IRAQIS TO HOLD ‘THANK YOU PRES. BUSH & AMERICA’ RALLY AT WHITE HOUSE

FORMER REP. BOB DORNAN & MUSLIM CLERICS TO SPEAK

WHEN: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2004, 1 P.M. TO 4 P.M.

WHERE: LAFAYETTE PARK, 16TH & H ST., NW, WASH., D.C.

(Washington) The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, an independent grassroots organization, is sponsoring a rally with Iraqi leaders from across the country to demonstrate the deep appreciation of the Iraqi-American community for the leadership of President Bush in liberating their country from the terrorist dictator Saddam Hussein.

The Iraqis will also be offering their gratitude to the American people for the sacrifices they have made to fight terrorists in Iraq and around the world.

Muslim clerics and secular leaders, including several who have been to Iraq since the fall of Saddam, will be speaking. They will be joined on stage by former Rep. Bob Dornan and other Americans who share their belief that the U.S. must stay the course in Iraq.

This rally has been very slow coming together. Iraqis are travelling in small groups from around the country for this gathering. All who wish to join them tomorrow are welcome to attend.

I know this announcement is late, but please help spread the word to your friends, families and e-mail lists. The Iraqis would love to have Americans stand with them tomorrow at Lafayette Park.

I wonder if the libs and anarchists plan an anti-rally? They're low enough to do it!

This is wonderful.
Will CSPAN carry this at all? Or PBS?

I'm not certain how many will be able to be in attendence, but I thank those that attend in number and spirit for their gratitude. It's appreciative since the MSM would have us believe they despise Iraqi's despise America.

No C-SPAN. The Iraqis didn't get their plans nailed down until Thursday afternoon, too late for C-SPAN's weekend booking. I have heard from several national news outfits, though.

I don't know if any leftists will show up. I doubt it, but we'll see. There'll be plenty of Park Police and Secret Service there to keep the peace.

The Iraqi community is not well-organized politically. Alot of that stems from keeping a low profile during the Saddam years so their families back home wouldn't be targeted.

Do you think this is the BIG event Neal Boortz was talking about today? If it is, its not BIG enough. Its really nice but this can easily be ignored by the press.

No. This is not a big event. Important, IMHO, but not big. We're expecting attendance in the hundreds.

I sure hope I can find it on Cspan, but I have my doubts. And if it is on, what, maybe 1000 people will tune in?

What a missed opportunity to show the positive side of the progress that has been made.

GOD BLESS THE IRAQI PEOPLE! AND! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!

Its really nice but this can easily be ignored by the press.

Since the press totally ignored an anti-abortion protest in DC (under Bill C.) with about a million people, I'm not sure the size of the event is the determining factor.

Has the MSM been notified and Fox? Call all stations in the D.C. area, tell them to cover the event - I am e-mailing Fox News right now...if everyone sends an e-mail to cover and film we just might get to see it.
