Hollywood hijinks (Dem Youngstown OH Mayor Endorses Bush)
Boston Globe ^ | 10/18/04 | GEORGE M. McKELVEY

Posted on 10/18/2004 1:56:52 AM PDT by kattracks

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio I'M THE Democratic mayor of Youngstown, a city that traditionally gives 60 to 75 percent of its vote to the Democratic presidential candidate. Growing up with the legacies of FDR, Harry Truman, and JFK formed my core Democratic values. They had the courage of their convictions, their word was their bond, and the entire world knew it. They made me proud to be a Democrat. Fast forward to 2004. John Kerry stands on the stage of Radio City Music Hall, acknowledges a group of Hollywood leftists and elitists, and characterizes them as representing the heart and soul of America. Senator Kerry, Ohio is still in America, and in Ohio Hollywood leftists do not represent our values, our heart, or our soul.

[snip]

My support for President Bush is motivated by his stance in making national security the number one priority. Bush understands that the terrorists cannot be reasoned with at a United Nations debating society conference. Peace through strength brought down the Berlin Wall, and only peace through strength will defeat the terrorists.

In contrast, the Hollywood leftists who've hijacked the Kerry campaign believe that Michael Moore would be a more effective secretary of state than General Colin Powell. I'm confident that FDR, Truman, and JFK would show Moore the door with their shoe leather on his backside. That's the Democratic Party I knew and loved.

On Steve Malzberg's show on WABC in New York yesterday, The subject of a Republican commercial featuring clips from that night at Radio City came up. Malzberg's guest, who was from US News & World Report, said that Mark Halperin (of the infamous ABC memo) was calling this Bush's October Surprise.
I only hope that it's true. The public needs to see the true nature of these Commu-fascist Hollywood pigs and the scum politicians feeding at their trough.

My memory;

Mayor of Orlando
Mayor of Miami Beach
Mayor of St Paul, MN
Mayor of Youngstown
Former Mayor of NYC
Senator Zell Miller
Christopher Hitchens
Andrew Sullivan (could switch, of course)
Assorted dual citizenship leftwingers who write articles, but whose names are unknown even to political junkies
Assorted entertainment figures

Can anyone add to this or be more specific if the names really mean anything to the electorate?

It gets worse. My fellow Democrats in Ohio recently selected our "Democrat of the Year." Would you believe Jerry Springer?

That says alot. I think Mayor McKelvey was on H&C prior to the RNC convention with his endorsement.

Kerry, aka Kaptain Ketchup is in real trouble.

He is even turning off a lot of Democrats.

After two years in Washington, I often long for the realism and sincerity of Hollywood.
