It should be remembered, however, that George Bush Sr. wasn't exactly friendly towards the Israelis. Neither was James Baker or Scowcroft. These are the very same people who let Saddam Hussein dictate the terms of his own surrender. Some of you may recall that one of Saddam's conditions required the US to jumpstart the so-called Middle East peace talks (aka surrender talks). The US went along with Saddam's demand and soon Arafat, who sided with Saddam Hussein during Gulf War I, was completely rehabilitated. And what did Arafat do with his clean slate? He squeezed as many concessions from Israel as he could during the "peace" conferences, and then proceeded to launch another wave of homicide bombings against Israel.
