You're right. Kerry used her sexuality as a political trick. Enough said.
To: Howlin
Nearly two in three likely voters -- 64 percent -- said Kerry's comment was "inappropriate," including more than four in 10 of his own supporters and half of all swing voters. A third -- 33 percent -- thought the remark was appropriate. I wonder where our Ghost from the Past friend today??

It says a lot about the impression Kerry's mom had of his character that she knew she'd better take the closing moments of her life to make one last pitch for "integrity."

skerry wanted to drive a wedge between what they perceive as the "right wing conservative Christian voters" - wanted to make sure they all knew - hoping it would encourage some of them to stay home on election day!

On MSNBC, mmediately after the debate, Ben Ginsberg told Chris Matthews, "Kerry will pay for this remark". Along with Pat Buchanan, Howard Fineman, Ginsberg recognized the "Yuck factor" when they saw it. And right now on MSNBC, Joe Trippi is spinning like a top, saying the outrage over Kerry discussing Mary Cheney's sexuality is being manufactured by the Bush campaign.
What if, during the presidential debate, George Bush had brought up Vanessa Kerry and her sex life? what if George Bush had professed to speak for Vanessa, put words in her mouth? We know how Tim, Tom, and Peter would have reacted, don't we?

I agree that that is probably their hope and intent.

And polls today have he and Bush even in NJ and Bush ahead by 5 in OR... hmmm... more than coincidence?
To: Linda Sandoval
Kerry's never led with 53%. At this point, he'll be lucky to get 43%.

Hopefully the Rat pundits, campaign slime, and media sycophants will turn up their superior elite demeanor and start telling Mr. And Mrs. Joe Average Citizen "No, no, no, you don't think that, we know you you are stupid and need to be told, so we're telling you: YOU LIKE JOHN KERRY, GET THAT THROUGH YOUR MUNDANE AVERAGE NOGGINS, we don't want to have to tell you again (but we will).
Those supersized Rat ego's might help us again.

Hello,
It is amazing, isn't it? The Dems can not control themselves at such crucial times as these in their quest to regain power. You are so right, it is the Wellstone Funeral Rally all over again. Last time, use a dead man for political gain, this time, use the sexual life of a woman they do not even know for political gain.
Thank God they lack self control!!
Glad to be here, MOgirl

'The latest Post tracking poll continues to show the race deadlocked, with each candidate receiving 48 percent of the vote. Independent Ralph Nader continues to barely register nationally and gets 1 percent of the hypothetical vote.
But the survey also suggests that Kerry continues to claim a large lead in key battleground states. In these 13 states, Kerry held a 53 percent to 43 percent advantage among likely voters.
A total of 1,555 registered voters were interviewed Tuesday through Thursday nights, including 1,203 likely voters. Margin of sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points for the overall results and plus or minus six percentage points for results from the battleground states and for the question asking views on Kerry's comment about Cheney's daughter, which was asked only of those interviewed Thursday night. Maybe God did make her gay so Bush would win this election.
Only kidding.
To: tractorman
Its time to retract the double standard that is extended to the Democrats. Komrade Kerry stepped just a little to forward and fell off. Now I if we could start hitting on some of the other asinine Democratic remarks.

I see your point, that is a good one.
Being gay is not an affliction or a disease though.

She is a lesbian! Everyone knows it. Why is this a big deal? Then why not use Barney Frank and/or Jim McGreevey as examples, rather than Mary Cheney?
To: YaYa123
That's a good point. I'm reminded how so many people, most of them cranks, rushed out to put words in bin Laden's mouth after he attacked us on 9/11. What's up with that? If Kerry really felt people needed or wanted Ms. Cheney's thoughts, he'd have said, "Let's ask Ms. Cheney what she thinks." But that would be even more candid and self-evidently unfounded. Instead, he presumes to speak for her as if her thoughts are so self-evident that it's not necessary for her to utter them. In fact, there is something else going on her.

If this is true, then Trippi has just launched a torpedo aimed at his own candidate. Elizabeth Edwards did the same thing and is paying for it.

During the next 18 days, all of the big guns will come out blazing and Kerry and Old Media will go down in flames.
To: conserv13
It's a big deal because it was an outstandingly crass, rude, boorish, low class response. It wasn't even a response, per se, there was no real logical progression to get to Cheney's daughter.
An equivalent statement by Pres. Bush would have been to answer a healthcare question by using Mrs. Edwards as an example of obesity, or make a point using Edward's dead son.
