National Trend of Threatening Protests Comes to PA
Democrat Protest in Westmoreland County Turns Ugly- Police Respond
Harrisburg Today, Republican State Committee Chairman Alan Novak demanded his Democrat counterpart, Chairman T.J. Rooney, condemn the threatening protest in Westmoreland County and call upon all Democrat and affiliated campaign groups to stop similar campaign protests that may be planned across Pennsylvania.
This is an outrage of the highest order. There is no place for violence, threats or disorderly conduct in campaigns," exclaimed Novak. With similar events happening across the nation, it is clear that some think this kind of action is condoned. I demand that Chairman Rooney call to a halt any and all threatening protests and that he urge affiliated third party groups to do the same."
Democrat protestors have every right to voice their opinion and be heard. But, when their actions become intimidating, unlawful and even violent, the perpetrators should be arrested and their leaders should be brought to justice. I will take every step possible to ensure that this happens in Pennsylvania to protect the peaceful volunteers that are working on behalf of the Republican Party and our candidates," added Novak.
This morning, a Democrat protest in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, turned threatening and potentially violent when a protestor stormed the Republican Victory Center shouting obscenities and intimidating young female volunteers. Police were called to the scene.
This type of intimidation mirrors the actions of other protests across the nation. Yesterday, an Orlando Bush/Cheney office was ransacked by Democrat protestors. In Tennessee, a Bush/Cheney office was fired upon breaking windows and destroying property.
This is an embarrassing, ugly and despicable display. It is campaigning at its worst. I trust that Chairman Rooney will deplore these acts as inexcusable and call to a halt any others that may be planned," concluded Novak.

This is very relevant nationally right now. Violent anti-GOP attacks occurred the last two days in Orlando and Miami, FL, West Allis, WI and reportedly elsewhere in Tennessee, where shots were fired into local Bush/Cheney offices. I sent WI GOP communications director an e-mail asking if they had pressed any charges and while he did not directly say if he had or planned to, he did say that arrests were made and charges filed against protesters in Orlando and Westmorland County, PA. I wrote more on this in my blog. It sounds to me as if we have a trend here and it is probably time to get this issue on the national scene so the voters can see what is really going on- and since Democrat leaders have responded with little more than scorn, it's time to give them the chance to condemn the attacks publicly.

Cameras should be installed in all Republican HQ's just as in banks and in convenience stores. Quality video would even be better. Although the MSM probably would not air their co-horts in hate, Fox may give it some play along with the Internet.

This violence is becoming very serious. A snapshot of how things would be under a Kerry-Edwards administration.

Now, that's worth a concerted response, freepers. What about a cmapign to demand the Department of Justice institute a RICO investigation--it seems a concerted effort across the Battleground states to intimidate Republican volunteers...

But I'm reminded of Pat Buchanan's line from a few years ago:

Here's hoping that during the debate Friday night President Bush forces Kerry to condemn and end this ugly behavior. That way W makes it public to the tens of millions watching and also makes Kerry and the rats look like (even bigger) idiots by putting them on the spot.
If all that stuff about Rove being a genius is true, this will happen!!!

Either you knock this s**t off, or we, the law-abiding upright citizenry of America, will reactivate Operation Phoenix.
If you really tick us off, we reactivate Operation Vulture. Yob' tvoyu mat', tovarisch!
If you smarmy a$$wipes in the DNC wish to choose war as your remedy, we will give you all that you want.
I'm starting to get a wee bit impatient.

Good. I think Kerry will be confronted by this issue within the next few days. I have no doubt that he was aware of the afl-cio attacks beforehand. I suspect he probably gave passive approval, meaning that he said nothing and didn't object to this.
