Cheney did not miss chances---he simply REFUSED to be put on the defensive. He answered most of the charges his way--Halliburton, for instance. Called it basically a lie and a smear and directed interested voters to the fact url--someone post it if they know it. He did sooooo well because he refused to take the bait and get defensive.

Gwen Ifils was a much better questioner than Lehrer--much more even-handed.
