Basically, it was Vice President Gravitas against Senator Lightweight. John Edwards was out of his league tonight.

If Edwards had met him, wouldn't he have thrown that back at him in the debate?

a nationally representative sample of 178 debate watchers

not a large enough sample to provide a statistically dependable result. Couldn't pass the t-test.

I guess they AREN'T very good at math.

P.S. - did you forget to reveal something about your sarcasm tags?

One would get the impression from the kook left that we have a moron in the White House. That so-called moron continues to clean their clock at every given opportunity. Speaks volumes of the left.

The negative news parasites will be out tomorrow wearing people down. Freepers will start doubting their intitial take.

Initial takes are 90% right in life for sane, intelligent people.

But, like I said Johnnie, good hearted and honest Freepers will start being worked upon that this was a "draw" or that Cheney looked more "Presidential" than Bush. They'll take the hook, and the doom and gloomers job is on its way to being done.

It's like the sun rising in the East.

Our neighbors and fellow citizens, however, are going about their lives tomorrow and they don't give a shit what Craig Crawford or Dick Morris think. If they saw the debate, they know who the man to protect their lives was and who the glib boyish operator was.

So, I'm pumped. But I'm like Hewitt, I was pumped after the debate last Thursday night too. Bush hammered home important understandings in a Cam Neely drive into the crease, and Kerry skated figure eights like Brian Boitano.

Cheney could clarify by saying Edwards is just so forgettable....;)

Great job Cheney!

This debate was such a facial smack from Chenney to Edwards, I could feel it. No way this will go down as a draw (of course excluding rigged polls). I'm sure they're still cleaning Edward's bodily fluids off the debate floor.

I wonder if he got hauled away in the ambulance he chased after in the parking lot at the start of the debate.

He made a comment about it not being fair for us to develope nuclear weapons and ask others not to.

Yeah, hello! We're not asking just anybody, we're asking countries that are unstable and/or ruled by terrorist nutjobs! And where does he think Kim Jong Il keeps his nukes? In bunkers!

If we develop the Bunker Busters, no terrorist creep will be safe, and neither will any of their arsenals. It is a must.

Yep, Me too. I cannot forgive the Right Wing Pundits for being so hung up on Bush's speaking style that they let such incredible Kerry gaffes as "global Test" nuke fuel for he mullahs Bilateral talks or US unilateral Nuclear Freeze on Bunker Busters etc go unchallenged! John Kerry is so 1970s it hurts but instead we feed into the DNC spin machine propaganda by spending all our time whining about Bush's speaking style. But watch the State polls. TIED IN MICHIGAN AND MINNESOTA, the only way this could get any worse for them is if Kerry started losing ground in Mass!

All I want for Christmas is a looped tape of Cheney going after "Senator Gone." That was masterful.

My favorite part was when Cheney oh-so-smoothly let drop the info on the $600,000 loophole that Edwards had used to avoid paying Medicare (I think -- forgot the specifics) tax. Edwards was FLUMMOXED! Babbling, speechless, blushing to the roots of his hair, not daring to deny it, only able to babble back that Halliburton had no doubt taken advantage of similar loopholes and stuttering, "We need to close those loopholes, close those loopholes ..." It was priceless. It knocked him off-kilter for the next five questions!

My husband said it was like having a really bad fourth hole in a golf game!

Edwards did very well stylistcally. That's no scoop, he's a world class plaintiffs attorney. He didn't make $60 million by being a sincere, glibless plowhorse in that vile business. This John John poofter team probably would have succeeded in the years Democrats succeeded .. 1960, 1976 and 1992. The years after the Republicans did the hard work and ended tough wars and peace was at hand. This ain't that time.

If Bush won in 2000 from an "incumbent" RAT VP in a time of peace and prospertiy ... why would anyone dump him in favor of a liberal Massachussetts Senator in 2004 when we are at War? That's not the way America operates. The fraud isn't going to carry the day, this is going to be a righteous arse smoking.

Our success may be a liability in 2008, but let's get there in one piece as a soverign nation and we'll deal with it then. That's my working philosophy.

Chrissy and company want to marry Cheney. Who knew? Chrissy sez Breck looked slapped.

Thisis why some conservatives used to get sucked into believing Matthews was moderate or conservaive. He can be really tough on the lobs when they give him the opportunity.

the impression from the kook left that we have a moron in the White House.

Knowing how to defend yourself is not moronic. Not knowing is. Recognizing a threat is not moronic, willfull blindness to it is. Showing weakness to a sworn enemy is. Appeasement is. Funny how the Dems are now talking tough on terrorism. Mind you, only if it originates in Afganistan.

Using the phrase "to win the peace" is political nonsense. You kick somebody's ass so bad that there is peace 'cause they're in no position to cause further harm, plain and simple.

Just because you could have answered it better doesn't mean it wasn't a stupid question.

OK, your point is more than valid. Dowd sure did look dumb though.

Instead said she'd been there a lot and never had seen Cheney, but she had trouble getting that lie out of her mouth and it showed.

It was a partisan NASA plot. They hid Cheney from her with a cloaking device.

Exactly! He made the comment as if there's no difference beween us and them! We aren't the fanatics with the grubby little hands looking to blow up anything that moves! I guess I'm just surprised that more attention hasn't been brought to this. It's seems so outrageous, and flat dangerous! Given the way Kerry thinks, this along with that 'global test' idea should have everyone's alarms ringing!

I saw a man of experience, intelligence, and one that...if I was in trouble, one I'd ask for help.

Yes. It took me awhile to put my finger on it. From the top of his head to the tips of his toes, Cheney was relaxed, sedate, and serene. He struck me as a wise and wonderful man with all his priorities in the right place.
