Ok, I give up. I'm not going to ABC, so what's the beef about Leahy?
Well, if the Bush/Cheney folks don't want Leahy there, I am sure Cheney is capable of letting him know.
It was a confrontation in the Senate a while back..
Isn't Leahy the one Cheny told to F-off?
other than leahy being a party hack? well, he started a some sort of anticheney/haliburton conspiracy theory week in the senate.
cheney told him to **** him and the horse he came in on during a senate group picture session.
Yeah, but Cheney kind of won that one, I thought. As he will any confrontations at tonight's event. Leahy is such a pipsqueak!
For one thing he has a f...ing nerve to show up uninvited.
Sounds to me like the dems are trying to setup cheney with the hopes he uses the 'f' word again!
Other way around.
I have followed your link and can't find anything mentioning Leahy.
Leahy told Cheney to f-off??
maybe leahy will get Dick fired up again, at least enough to sink the little john's hopes...
one would think dems could have a little shame and good sense once in awhile though - -what was I saying this is leaky leahy
it was the other way around Cheney told that to leahy, who wanted an apology he didn't get.
Nope just the opposite.
The RATS probably think having leaky Leahy there will rattle Cheney. NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Cheney will do well no matter who attends.
I thought I had it right the first time.
Thanx!
The bigger topic will probably be what Bremer and Rum said recently - both have made statements that go against what they each had said before - makes no sense to me why these guys are mucking things up right at debate time -
Cheney had better have "his" story straight on these guys - what a mess. Is it something in the water in that area - ?
just wondering -
Look what else was in that link:
Bremmer said on ABC some time ago that he NEVER REQUESTED ADDITIONAL TROOPS!
AMBASSADOR L. PAUL BREMER: No, I've never made a request for more troops that's been agreed to. I never made a request for more troops. I agree with the CENTCOM Commander John Abizaid, who said earlier this week in a press conference that he believes we have enough troops here. I think that's right. It's not a question of more troops, it's a question of being effective with our intelligence, getting more Iraqis to help us. There are more than 50,000 Iraqis now working with us on security matters in the police and the border guards and the civil defense corps, and in the new Iraqi army. So Iraqis are more and more assuming responsibility for their security here.

I do not think for one minute that this bothers Cheney.
Leahy's presence will give all the media commentators a reason to remind viewers that Cheney used profanity.
Of course it would be kinda funny if Cheney points out Leahy and tells Edwards "I see you brought your support team".
It was Cheney who told Leahy to F Off!!Gotta love it !!
Won't work.
Oh, Puh-leeze. Next you're going to tell me that they're going to roll out Max Cleland.
"Any other trick the dims can possibly pull tonight?"
Yep. Cavuto said that they have placed Leahy in the second row (I think) right in the line of Cheney's eyesight.
If I see Leahy I'll tell him he can go F himself.
Bwahahahahha.... you've GOT to check this out
Where is the Leahy quote?
I think Vice President Cheney is probably one of the best ever. Does anyone think he may have made a "command decision" on 9-11 when he gave the shootdown order? Totally irrelevant question, but I know there are many who have researched the question better than I.
I'm sure the Dem's greatest hope is that Edward's can goad Cheney into losing his temper as he did with Leahy. Cheney has to know that. I'm also pretty sure that America wouldn't mind a pissed off Veep who wants to take out terrorists as opposed to a piss-ant trial lawyer who'd be happy to sue for emotional distress on their behalf.
Wheel you be serious for once :-)
Is Leahy there supposed to scare/intimidate Cheney?....ROTFLMAO......my sides, my sides...they're killing me!!
Guaranteed he will ask that if Leahy is there.
I don't believe Cheney would utter a single word of complaint about this. He knows how underhanded the Dems are being and probably expected it, actually.
If the dems are really doing what Cavuto said (putting Leahy right in front of Cheney), I think this will serve Cheney well. Having to look at Leahy's face I imagine would stoke anyone's fire in the belly.
At which point Cheney should ask Edwards to apologize for Kerry flipping the bird at veterans--and I think he did that several times.
Cheney will just take his eyeglasses off, rub them a little bit, smile that sideways smile and proceed to dissect Edwards.
Didn't the dims plant somebody in the front row at the VP debate in 2000 to try and shake up Cheney?
It's too bad Karl Rove couldn't have had some of the doctors who lost or nearly lost their practices to gain Edwards millions in the second row with Leahy.
Cheap tatics, we should have brought Zell Miller!
ABC couldnt resist getting in a Halliburton shot pre debate..
ABC better hope its readers/viewers haven't been to that factcheck.org link.
The Dems are awfully petty and childish if they think this is going to affect VP Cheney one bit.
And if Edwards intends to ask for an apology for Leahy, Cheney need only demand first an apology and retraction for calling the President a liar.
And some ABC headline notwithstanding, I don't believe for a minute that BC04/RNC types are 'angered' by this at all.
