Kinda makes you wonder if Burkett is starting to get real nervous, with this pre-emptory statement to the press. Things are getting ready to get real ugly on these forged memos and I'm convinced that somebody is going to rat out the real perpetrators and their connections. The trail back to the DNC will become as appearant as a pumpkin on a shelf with the bananas at your favorite grocery store!
The Texas Rangers are one of the better cop shops in the country and they don't even need political cover to ferret this whole deal out into the open, the whole state (except for the Democratic People's Republic of Travis County - Austin) is about as Republican and conservative as you can get.
Memo to Burkett. Make a deal to cover your own butt, and make it fast. The Dems and Rather will throw you on the train tracks without a moment's thought. What do you owe them? Tell the truth and save your own rear end.

The Rangers will do a thorough job of looking into this without any political spin or influence, they take great pride in doing it right. One word of caution however. They will take as long as they need, they will not be rushed, and they will not tell us a thing until it's finished. Do not become discouraged.

From the TexasRangers.Org site I found the following ... The Rangers have a heritage that began with the earliest settlements in Texas. They have been compared to four other world-famous law enforcement agencies, the FBI, Scotland Yard, Interpol and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Danny boy, you and your pals probably think that it's all hit the fan by now. Hope you like the smell of crap, cause it ain't goin away anytime soon.

Texas Att'y Gen'l Launches Rathergate ProbeExcerpt: "On Wednesday 52 Republican congressman urged the Texas attorney general and the U.S. attorney in Lubbock to investigate who created a bogus document at the heart of the now-discredited CBS News story accusing Bush of shirking his Guard duty," the Fox News Channel's Major Garrett reported. The congressional letter read in part: "We request an immediate investigation and prosecution if warranted. Our interest is in whether any state or federal crimes were committed."
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.

After I made this pic, I decided I should have extended Delay's statement to include ".... if I wanted to!"

In Texas the A.G. doesn't prosecute cases unless he is helping a local prosecutor or (at their request) or appointed because a local prosecutor has a conflict. Even if Abbott finds evidence to support a case he still needs an elected prosecutor in the proper jurisdiction to take the case to a grand jury.
Ronnie Earle....... maybe it can be given to another jurisdiction instead.

"Let's hope that Dan I'd Rather not check my sources is also getting a lot of mail for his deplorable reporting on a possible draft."
Ahh, that was not "reporting." That was total & deliberate twisting of facts per democrats modus operandi. Want to know what the dem's are really doing on any given issue? It's whatever they'd like you to believe the Republicans are doing.
the reason they are so practiced at pointing fingers - watch Kerry tonight - is that they want you to look over there, over anywhere, but straight at them. You might see what THEY are actually doing.
But this time, methinks, they are hoisting themselves by their "own petard."

Why the Texas Rangers? Why not the Dallas Cowboys?
