Dan's writing his own fan mail now?
No, no.....not welfare....."assistance".
Can't make them feel like parasites, don'tcha know.
PS We are quite fortunate in that both situations can be easily cleared up. A form 180 signed by Kerry and producing the original documents on which CBS based its 'report' will answer all the questions in short order. I'm happy to hear that you would support these two simple steps!
It's true. I was born wealthy and never worked a day in my life...
NOT! on both counts!
Sorry, you are wrong.
Bush did his two years active duty. Once you do your "weekend warrior" part of the National Guard service, it is common to miss drills if you have another commitment. Indeed, physicals are part of the drill, (I usually did a lot of physicals during drills, so I know about this) and lots of guys miss them, inlcuding missing flight physicals, which are more involved. If he missed it and they really wanted him to fly, they could have had a local flight physician do it in the office. But he couldn't fly the planes in ALA so they just let it pass. No big deal. And I had only one physical in my ten years of weekend warrior duty.
You see, they need you to fill in slots in case of war. But they have your name and address. So if you miss, no big deal as long as you make it up.
I have big gaps in my service, including four months where they didn't even record I was at the Commonwealth Armoury in Boston doing physicals, so I didn't get paid...no one remembered me, and when I protested, the Second Lt. told me too bad...
Bush missed some drills at the end of his commitment, but made them up later. Big deal. Everyone who served in the guard knows it happens all the time...and he was not given preferential treatment...
Well regardless of his/her spin, at least he/she knows the inevitable outcome is a W victory.
That article is truly stuptifying.
