Kerry urged to stay course

RICHMOND -- Gov. Mark R. Warner suggested Friday that fellow Democrat and their party's presidential nominee, John Kerry, pay attention to something besides poll numbers when it came to investing in Virginia.

The campaign, he said, should give more credence to the enthusiasm that Virginia Democrats are showing this year at rallies and headquarters openings.

"There are other states more significant, more important, to their electoral strategy," Warner conceded.

"We're one of the states on the bubble, and I think they underestimate the enthusiasm Virginia Democrats feel this year."

The Kerry campaign will not purchase television ads in Virginia, at least for now.

It wants to wait for a new round of polls to see how close Kerry has come to Republican President Bush.

Kerry strategist Tad Devine hasn't ruled out another ad blitz in Virginia.

The campaign will continue to support its network of volunteers and bring in the candidates and their families for appearances, he told reporters Thursday.

Virginia has not backed a Democrat for president since the Lyndon Johnson landslide of 1964.

Kerry urged to stay course

There's a course? I thought his campaign direction was determined by Brownian Motion.

I know the blacks at the NAACP convention laughed at Bro. Honky Fonky Kerry, for the rendition of the black power salute. I think Kboy should have written a book on,"Shape-Shifting Made Easy" by Jf'nK. What about,"The Changling" a study of Jf'nK's psychopathic/paranoid schizoid adaptations surviving the perils of Viet Nam (16 weeks TDY)and the campaign trail? Kerry in his twisted logic thinks he is a hero, however America knows the flake is just a big Zero. Bush?Cheney 2004

Kerry was imitating his technique when partying with his gay supporters.

Whether he's flipping or flopping, Kerry's just wrong***....It's fitting that in the summer Kerry windsurfs, arcing his body this way and that, and in winter he snowboards, twisting this way and that. His inner confusion is finally coming to view thanks to talk radio, cable news and the Internet. George W. Bush spent $200 million on TV ads that didn't move his numbers. The Swift Boaters changed all with a modest initial $500,000 buy -- focusing on Kerry's bipolarity. For which they deserve our grateful praise.***

I think the words "Democrats" and "Enthusiasm" in the same sentence pretty much disappeared when the Swiftboat vets starting running ads.

I would say let 'em waste money here, but then I didn't think Warner had a chance and look where he is now. I still don't know what the heck happened there.

Yeah, they just thow out numbers. I suppose they were using the campaign dollars collected and used that for their ad buy total.

The National Faith Based Initiative Coalition will support Republican ideals and the re-election of President Bush and attempt to close the gap between liberal and conservative 527 groups, said Oliver Kellman, the coalition's executive director.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, liberal 527s have collected about $131 million, while conservative groups have collected a mere $16 million during the 2004 election cycle.

When you have as many differing positions as he has, and the slimy media is on your side, why change course?

Virginia will not vote for Kerry.
