Do they serve special foods on a day like this.
It just sounds like a private organization reserved the park. Amusement parks do that sometimes in the "off-season".
Once an amusement park (also here in NJ) was reserved by my husband's employer for employees and their families only. Just about any private group can reserve an amusement park in the off-season. In fact, Six Flags/Great Adventure in NJ (the same park in the article) has been offering to have a "homeschool day" for homeschoolers in NJ, though I don't know if anyone has ever gone...
Well, I hope it rains anyway...
Their version of Gay Day at Disneyland?
The chief difference between "Muslim Only Day" and "Gay Day" is that the muslims are prohibiting everyone else from attending. The homosexual crowd WANTS the general population to be there; it is a sign "in their faces" plus all those children will be there.
I would almost guaranty it. They believe in special prayers being said over the animals as they are slaughtered. All approved foods must have been prepared according to tradition. Some muslims will eat fast food but the Imam inform them that unless they know exactly how it is prepared, they should avoid it.
On Ask the Imam they are even advised to avoid animals that were slaughtered with Jewish or Christian prayers. Not to say that the prayers are prohibited, just that "you still don't know if the food is 'okay'".
It certainly creates a situation where only muslim slaughterhouses and restaurants will get business from the muslim community.
However these Jewish events do not bar anyone else who wants to enter the park.
Do the concession stands sell the specialty food items?
When I went to a corporate event at Astroworld (a Six Flags park), we went to a barn shaped reception area and had our catered barbecue served there.
That's sad, but I do believe the park rules are that one must wear a shirt and shoes. And poor Kru left his shoes at the U.N. after pounding on the table with them.
I don't have a problem with it IF they rented out the whole park but this article sounds like they just aren't allowing non Muslims in. That, I have a problem with.
There is an article up on WorldNetDaily.com - looks like the ICNA and Six Flags changed their tune a little.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1216402/posts
Good news. I was just on the point of returning my season pass.
