Who needs a doc or a shrink when you have beer? :-)

Ya know, I'm sure this admission might get me ostracized, but I can't stand alcohol. :-) I've never liked the taste, and every time I even try something with a hint of alcohol in it, I make the "eeeyuck" face that 8-year-olds make when they get cough medicine.

Mmmmmmm, beer me...
...and make mine an icy Shiner Bock from those glorious copper tanks in Shiner Texas. Almost time for me to make another pilgrimage there. And now to find out that it's actually good for me I say: Excellent :o)

He says men can drink up to 1.75 pints a day...in order to experience the healthy effects of beer. I must be really healthy then.

Paulaner's nice, but I'm partial to Maisel's Weisse and Schneider Weisse (in that order).
Maisel's is the best I've ever had. Anywhere.

If you're larger, you can handle more.
And to be honest, two or three pints of any measure, won't do anything but good for you. Unless you drink them on an empty stomach and then decided to go immediately for a drive.
If you drink till you can't stand up, want to go to sleep or not have sex... you had too much.
Wine has similar benefits.
But the benefit, let there be no mistake aboutit, comes from the alchohol... not just the grain or grape.
Same goes for liquor. A regimen of taking two or three shots (not pints) three or more days a week, have been tied to the prevention stroke, heart disease and high blood presure.
Part of our "higher than the world's" heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke rate is due to our 'protestant' obsession with restriction of, or abstinence from, one of God's most important gifts to mankind's physical health... fermented grains and fruit.
Folks who don't drink some now and then as God intended, tend to compensate with other substances... sugar, chocalate and starchy fats. NOt that drinkers don't get fat... but I have to date NEVER met ONE FAT 'wine-o'.
I have heard it told that Beer saved Europe from starvation several times in the middle ages. I believe it.

"Guinness, for example, turns one into an operatic singer..." Well, that's it right there then. Any swill that is fit for turning manly men into poofters isn't fit to grace my refrigerator.
