Could be a shadow group promoting a very popular potential candidate in the hopes of siphoning Republican votes from a predicted close election. Hey its possible!

He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY I believe. His Father won $20,000 on Jeopardy and moved the family to Australia.

"Well, he WAS BORN here so it is legal"

Would it make any difference if he has given up his US citizenship?

The eligibility standards for serving as President are surprisingly modest. As quoted from the Constitution:

"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

As you see, the US citizenship is a requirement, but presumedly since he was physically born in the US, application for American citizenship should present no obstacle.

Mel Gibson has stated in the past that he is in fact an AMERICAN citizen. However, many (perhaps all) of his children -- and his wife -- are Australian citizens.

Regards,

How about Mike or Mary (average citizen) for president ?

Nope sorry....they ain't a celeb, lawyer, pro ball player, porn star, rich man , minority , presstitute or son/daughter of any of the above..........just patriots who love their country , born here, completed high school, served a tour in the military and work for a living to pay their own way. They sure don't deserve such responsibility or authority to preserve our republic now do they ?

Yeah I'm tired of these friggin famous people for Prez posts.....sorry please just excuse my rant. One day its the terminator, then walker texas ranger, now mad max.......

Stay safe !

Would Jesus vote for Mel Gibson?

Foreigners cannot vote in U.S. elections.

Let me correct my choice of words .... he should run and get elected governor of a state first before running for President.

Me doin' purty good, considerin'.

Glad you gave instructions about the button. I was just going to nail it on, but perhaps a pin is a better idea.

Now if only they were available in packs of twenty.

Maybe if we just passed a law that presidents and/or their wives cannot be lawyers, that would fix/prevent a lot of entangling garbage around what is supposed to be our "freedom."

(If Muttly DO get a pack of 20, he plans to melt them down and make a GIANT one. THAT'LL impress the neighbors !)
