"From the time those cowards ran to Canada, that country was so immersed in vicious hatred they opened their arms to the dodgers and these people became their representative heros."

For some, but not all. It's all on the libs and their sheep.

"When a country builds a memorial to honor your choices, something seems wrong."

Definitely ... and it's called liberalism.

I think Canada is too weak to fight the war on terror.

On our own? Yes. However, we can contribute and have. However, we will never meet our potential until the libs are GONE.

Thanks so much for the welcome - I can't imagine living anywhere else! Life would be boring as heck. The U.S. demands and requires the individual expand and grow and make independent decisions - that's just how it should be and I love it.

I started a thread when I made my application in April on one of the Chat areas of FR.... I am still waiting on my fingerprinting and appointment to take the exam and swear the Oath - I am not waiting for the ceremonial but have requested the oral test and Oath be taken the same day to hurry things along. Just wanted to keep the people here informed on how this process works for their own information. So many American born citizens don't know the process unless someone they know goes through it.

I am trying to beat the election registration deadline - the country clerk is getting a bit sick of me....haha.... so is the immigration attorney....

I wonder if I sent donuts to the INS (Homeland security)????
Naw....can't melt their hearts any.

I'll be one frustrated alien if I miss out on this election.

Below is the official response from the City of Nelson, BC. This "memorial" is not government approved or funded, nor is it a reflection of the opinion of a vast majority of Canadians. While we may not always agree with American policy, sometimes ardently opposing it, most Canadians would never support such a monument. A "monument" of this nature, if ever erected, would clearly be nothing more than a slap in the face to those thousands of men and women who needlessly died in a war many of them would rather have not been involved, but dutifully served. I consider myself a liberal Canadian and pray to God that such an improper and inappropriate display of anti-Americanism never comes to pass.

News Flashes
RE: PROPOSAL FOR A MONUMENT TO WAR RESISTORS

http://www.city.nelson.bc.ca/html/news_flash.html

The City of Nelson has not been approached to take an official position with respect to a monument to War Resistors. City Council has not been asked to support it, to fund it, or to provide a location. The proposal is the idea of a group of individuals called "Our Way Home". No City official, including the Mayor is any way associated with this group.
Any opinions that have been expressed on this proposal are purely the opinions of the individuals making them.
The City of Nelson sincerely regrets any anxiety or misunderstanding that has occurred as a result of this issue.

Nothing in this country of Canada would surprise me! This Remebrance Day, November 11, 2004, our Vancouver, B.C., city officials let an American Vietnam Draftdodger lay a wreath for the Merchant Navy. If that was not disrespectful; i do not know what is! A coward laying a wreath for our W.W.I and W.W.II Merchant Marine veterans who paid the supreme sacrifice; so we could live in FREEDOM!

People want to knock America, and President Bush! President Bush is doing what has to be done; fighting TERRORISM!

Here is one for you! Pierre Elliot Trudeau, was a Prime Minister of Canada. He was also a CONSCRIPTION DODGER, during W.W.II. When he was buried, they had a Canadian Flag on his casket. When my late father, John Andrew Murza, Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve, V-82787, Submarine Detector, W.W.II, was buried, the funeral home couldn't find a Canadian Flag for his casket! A man who risked his life, for the FREEDOM, that we enjoy today didn't have a flag draped over his casket, though a coward who ran from serving his country, during W.W.II, did!

If this Draftdodger memorial is erected, i'm leaving this country of Canada, and never coming back! Believe me, i won't be the only one!

Brian 'Canuck' Murza,
W.W.II Naval Researcher/Author,
Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

P.S.: To the men and women of Canada, Britian, U.S.A., and all of our Allied Countries who paid the supreme sacrifice during W.W.I, W.W.II, KOREA, VIETNAM, AND ALL OTHER WARS AND CONFLICTS, and the men and women who served during these times mentioned; and have served in the past, present or future:

Still stands thine ancient sacrifice, a humble and a contrite heart, Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet, Lest we Forget, Lest we Forget!
Rudyard Kipling.

There is no reason in this world; to have a Memorial dedicated to Draftdodgers!

Brian 'Canuck' Murza.

To Chemical_boy: As a humble W.W.II Naval Veteran once explained to me; War, seperates the men from the boys!

Good nic-name for you!
