This is why we fight the war offensively. Defense is too difficult to play. Kerry fails to understand that -- when the terrorist is on the school bus, with explosives, all your good options are already gone.

Bush is taking the War to the enemy, and he is making them change their thinking. It's already happening in many countries. But a wounded animal is dangerous, and we may well see another tragedy on US soil.

She's way ahead of us.

Maybe deport Arabs who got here after August 1,1990?

No telling how tight the screws will be turned if kids are killed.

The magic conscience killing elixir they are all high on....comes directly from the septic wells of spiritual enlightenment in Mecca and Medina...

With affiliates being built routinely across the USA

I'm saying the kids will never reach school in the morning.

Driver will take a DETOUR, then wait for the cameras to show up.

This Minnesota arrest is spooky.

>...instant justice...

Not in Minneapolis. There, you'd have to kick your way through the mobs of idiot leftists, "Code Pink" nitwits, and dim-witted multicultists who'd be flocking to express solidarity with their Moslem brothers and form chains of human shields around every mosque and Islamic center.

No, if there is a terrorist strike in someplace like Minnesota, it'll be in one of the lily-white outer suburbs. Minneapolis, like Madison, Berkeley, and Detroit, has been successfully colonized and is no longer an American city.

The most scary thing to me is that many schools in America are polling places. After 9/11, I was frantic with worry about the safety of my kids' school. It was a polling place and there was virtually no security. (This was in Virginia, where there are odd-year elections.) The polling station was in the gym, reached through a rear entrance off the main street. I saw right away that someone with a car bomb could easily drive right up to it unnoticed and blow 400 kids and teachers to bits. I called the school board and the police department and demanded that police in cruisers be stationed at the rear entrance to the school, and that uniformed, armed cops be posted at the front of the school. I was rebuffed at first but kept at it, and they finally agreed to do it.

Imagine the combination of a school massacre and the deaths of dozens of poll workers and voters on Election Day! Yes, it would be too late to have an impact on the election itself, but would you want to be the President or the President-Elect that night, knowing that you cannot even celebrate your victory because you immediately have to deal with the slaughter of hundreds of children? What if John Kerry is elected on a day when this happens? Would millions of voters immediately have second thoughts and wish they had voted to reelect President Bush?

"Instant justice" has nothing to do with judges or juries - just executioners.

That's another problem. Saudi govt. money is paying for them.

God are we chumps for allowing it.

I hate to say it. Well, we had "DROP" under-the-desk drills in the 1950s and 1960s in the event of a nuclear explosion. Now it is clear we need to have "HOSTAGE" drills in the 2000s, in the event the enemy penetrates the soft underbelly of America, goes to the heartland, cases various schools, and considers doing the unthinkable on our own soil. Sorry if I am an alarmist and/or this kind of drilling practice at American schools worries children and parents. It would probably never get past the NEA though, because it might be considered "offensive" or "politically incorrect" or somehow "anti-Muslim" under the surface.

The bastards would have the nerve to sacrifice up our children on the altar of diversity, open mindedness and PC.

I believe firmly that most Americans should do two things:

1. Take aggressive self defense classes in close quarters combat; and

2. Become armed and trained to use a handgun and rifle.

We are too weak as a people and not mentally prepared to physically defend ourselves as what might be required if we are placed in the wrong circumstances.

Think how many lives would have been saved on 9-11 if the passengers did the same thing on the first two planes that the passengers on Flight 92 Did.

No. Allow volunteer teachers to carry concealed.

I agree, but I have to believe that there are very few principals and administrators who would agree to even discuss this until they see American children killed. Most of them, especially out here in fly-over country, are still living with a September 10th, 2001 worldview.

I see you've given this a lot of thought also. I worry about states "in play" on election morning. Just like NY on primary day Sept 11. What a nightmare.

They might think differently if it was THEIR children being held hostage, but frankly, you never know with those folks.

Background checks can be defeated with enough planning.

I work for a skilled nursing facility and we are required to do two background checks on new hires. The efficient bureaucracy was behind by about four months, and we had an employee during that four months who had previously been convicted of child abuse. But the background checks are performed so sloppily that one cannot rely on them. Of course, we're still required to do them -- state has to make money somehow.

Average American have better arms and are probably better shots then the terrorists, any takeover of an American school would not last long, the local Sherif would in short order have an over whemling force of men willing and able to take out the terrorists. It is the American way.

We also need to turn out in the streets in the 100s of THOUSANDS, like the Russians in Krasyna Ploschod (Red Square) the other day, with fervent ANTI TERROR signs and slogans. As it is, only the APPEASERS among us here in the USA turn out in those kinds of numbers to oppose any kinds of actions against the Terrorists and Self Defense.

Where is the outrage on the part of the Americans? Even most 9-11 memorials were tear jerking, victim mentality, TRAGEDY-PEACE rallies, rather than irate forums where we could scream "OUTRAGE! REVENGE! BLEED THEM IN RETALIATION!"

No, it wouldn't. Can you imagine the effect THAT news might have on the voting in other areas? It would be the perfect opportunity for the Democrats to cry foul and say again, that if the President were re-elected that he was an 'illegimate' President.
