Cut off the free health care, the free education, the housing subsidies, WIC, food stamps, etc and they won't have all this money to send back.

Libertarians would let anyone and everyone across the border... including Muslim expansionists.

And if the Muslims tried to impose Sharia Law on anyone other than themselves? They be shot to pieces. In fact, due to the increase in private property Rights, you wouldn't have to allow them in your store, you could refuse service to them, ect...

Try that now and see how far it gets you. And what exactly are either of the current Big Two Parties doing to stop EXACTLY what you are describing? Besides not much that is....

The numbers are likely to intensify competition among US banks for a share of the remittance market, which is seen as the best way to improve their marketing to Hispanics.

LOL. The government mandate regarding "competition" might have something to do with it also

Actually, there is one party who knows what must be done:

"This unconstitutional drain on the federal Treasury is having a severe and adverse impact on our economy, increasing the cost of government at federal, state, and local levels, adding to the tax burden, and stressing the fabric of society. The mass importation of people with low standards of living threatens the wage structure of the American worker and the labor balance in our country.

[We] demand that the federal government restore immigration policies based on the practice that potential immigrants will be disqualified from admission to the U.S. if, on the grounds of health, criminality, morals, or financial dependence, they would impose an improper burden on the United States, any state, or any citizen of the United States.

We oppose the provision of welfare subsidies and other taxpayer-supported benefits to illegal aliens, and reject the practice of bestowing U.S. citizenship on children born to illegal alien parents while in this country.

We oppose any extension of amnesty to illegal aliens. We call for the use of U.S. troops to protect the states against invasion."

I ask you - shouldn't this be part of the Republican Party's immigration plank?

Do not read this.

The Constitution Party has some very good positions.

Perhaps it is time to stop voting for the lesser of to evils, the outcome be damned.

Yes, it is time.

I believe that any conservative who lives in a deciding state has a duty to reelect the President no matter how distasteful the thought may be. Allowing a self-certified liberal-socialist traitor to gain the office would insure a leftist Supreme Court for the next generation or more. Kerry's ascension would also undo all the work (and betray the sacrifices of our military personnel) that has been done trying to reign in the fanatics still waging religious war on us.

We would be wise to retain sight of the big picture and acknowledge how third parties can be the best tools for reform (and not the spoilers that the Perot debacle made of one). If those in solidly Democrat bastions wish to use their Presidential vote to accomplish the most good, giving it to the Republicans seems to be the futile gesture. Third parties garner qualifications for succeeding elections by their support in a current one. That success forces established parties to modify (ie: reform) their platforms to win back disgruntled voters. Better government results and America benefits.

My personal view is that Presidential elections give third parties valuable public relations opportunities but shouldn't expect more in that venue. If the resultant publicity is well received by a significant number of citizens that support can then be channeled toward gaining ground in local and state politics. Should they catch on and continue into the national scene they would definitely have won their "right" to be there.

Unfortunately some people see the existence of third parties on any level as a threat that has to be crushed mercilessly. Adolf and Josef would wholeheartedly approve.

This dependency must be capped now and then phased out over a decade or so or we are going to end up pursuing Mexico as another state ( a la Puerto Rico).

Maybe we should tax the remittances.

Just put a 45% tax on the dollars headed south. They can pay for their presence one way or another. Phase it down 2% per year and put in an acceleration clause of an additional 1.5% reduction per year based upon some factor indicating they are leaving. Lets say 0.75% if the number of illegals caught crossing the border is below 10,000 and an additional 0.75% if 2.5 million per year register themselves at the border as they are headed SOUTH with a load of house furniture and a back seat full of kids. If the numbers are not there at the end of ten years, too bad. That is where the permanent tax number remains. Comply and the number should go to roughly 10% in 10 years.

If the number of illegals goes up during the year, so does the tax. It will be up to them how much they pay.

Well Fargo Bank is a BIG enabler of shipping American Dollars to mexico. THey has a system in which the illegals can, with one of those highly reliable may-trick-you conn-slur cards

* Direct transfer from your InterCuenta Express account to your beneficiary's debit card account at Bancomer® or HSBC Mexico
* No intermediaries

How InterCuenta Express works
Once you've opened your account, it's easy to send money:

* Just deposit funds to your InterCuenta Express account at any Wells Fargo location.
* Your transfer (minus fees) is available to your beneficiary in Mexican Pesos through their Bancomer or HSBC Mexico account.
* Your beneficiary may withdraw the funds at any Bancomer or HSBC Mexico branch or ATM.
* Your beneficiary can choose to keep funds in the Bancomer or HSBC Mexico account to accumulate interest and receive other Bancomer or HSBC Mexico benefits.

Remember.. That is .....

WELLS FARGO BANK

that is activly promoting shipping American Dollars into the mexican system.

RE: tax the remittances?

Remittances are taxes. They are taxes paid to the source country on money earned in the host country.

This is soon to be the accepted way. See U.N.-approved Columbia University professor Jagdish Bhagwati's campaign for a World Migration Organization. Guest workers!

Remittances are not just for family members back home. google, remittances hta

Read about collective-remittances. That's money going to government entities in the ILLEGAL and legal aliens' home communities. HTA stands for home town associations. The Mexican government especially is helping set up hundreds of them around the (former?) U.S. of A.

It is the "wave of the near future" as long as there are the same two Parties. Neither Party cares one whit for our Republic's sovereignty v. "cheap" labor and votes.

Oh.. Bhagwati's World Migration Organization? The host country is responsible for guaranteeing the guest workers' "human" rights, not inalienable rights, human rights like housing, education, health care, income, happiness. . pretty much freedom from want as the U.N. definition puts it.

Don't forget the recent news, the Republicrats are on the verge of giving full Social Security to ALL ILLEGAL aliens if they can prove they worked here at least six quarters. That's Part A of the plan.

Part B may require baby boomers to work longer and get less.

Oh, too bad! The baby boomers have given us this situation. It wasn't enough for them to ruin the social mores of an entire society; their rampant personal gratification is now decimating our economy.

I would strongly suggest to boomers that you save your money; we who have had the distinct displeasure of following behind you, look forward to cutting you off cold.

Remittances to that pest hole are probably double what they say above. Many back channels for sending money to Mexico and central America. This is all a net drain on our economy.

We really don't want to put Mexico into play by triggering revolutions and I see that as a real possibility.

If given a choice, I'd just as soon have the revolution take place there than here.

If given a choice only between revolution there or here I too would pick there. I don't think violent upheaval would be necessary if the changes are made gradually and their economy has time to adjust. I also have serious doubts that our government will pursue such a sensible solution.
