Because it was an international airport, which, I suppose means it recieves a lot of Federal money. Local authorities wouldn't want to lose that money by making waves.
Well, aren't you just cute as a button? Okay, then. Who am I to argue with a guy who always wins? Seems mighty strange to me, though, that this one floats to the surface every few weeks, and aside from some squealing and hand-waving on FR, never seems to develop legs. High time some clever cog in the Republican attack machine (one whose grasp of aviation law is, of course, far more firm than my own) grabs this and runs with it. Isn't it?
Yes. Yes I am! And you? You are a Democrat and a Kerry supporter. It was obvious from your first post:
"Old story. And, frankly, I never thought it was anything. Why would you go to your US Senator (and the junior one, at that) about a local airport problem?"
That sentence shows both your Democrat partisanship and typical Democrat ignorance about important subjects.
High time some clever cog in the Republican attack machine....
Really! Perhaps, but it is supposed to be the your much admired press that should expose these crimes of incompetence. But of course, since most of the Federal Government, at the time of 911, was still populated with Clinton holdovers, the Democrat press is not going to expose its own. Just as it won't expose the fact that Lyndon Johnson escalated Vietnam in order to keep Saigon from falling before the 1968 election and LBJ's second term.
Kerry was guilty of what all Democrats are guilty of; being concerned with his own political future rather than the safety of America and her citizens.
I don't suppose it occurred to Mister INeverLoseAnArgument to, say, look at my posting history before blurting something like that, did it?
I don't have the time for that. However, your profile page and your tag line do not exactly agree. To wit:
"On the other hand, there could be no suchofa thing,
I could not find "suchofa" in the dictionary. Did you make up that word? Cool.
BTAIM, Jane Garvey is one very responsible government official that should really be indicted and tried for misfeasance of office.
OTOH, I am still as "cute as a button" and you are still merely annoying.
