North Texax, South Texas, West Texas, East Texas, Central Texas. (I guess.)
Think about the screaming if one of the Texases wanted to retain the unadorned name Texas!

Texas should divide itself into five states. No doubt, the capital of the largest one would be called Texico.

South Texas would go Democratic. We would need to be part of central or east.

If we can have North and South Dakota and Carolina, why can't we have several Texases?

As an Arkansan, I can say that this would have both good and bad to it. For the bad, we would have five Texases. For the good, none of them would be big, big, big and proud of it.
I would recommend that we form them into Longhornia, Aggieland, BobKnightia, Highland Park, and Hell.

East TX belongs in Arkansas, West TX belongs in New Mexico, the Panhandle in OK, and the Valley can go to Mexico or become independent. :)

North Texas could assume the proud name of Baja Oklahoma.

Why you hate us so? Surely even Bill Clinton is not enough for you to wish this on us. (well maybe so)

If there is ever statehood for Puerto Rico or some other regions, we will get over our "50 states/100 senators" fixation.
Washington, D.C. keeps seeking statehood (as asinine as "living" at City Hall).
I could see splitting California into 2 states as well.
