I originally made this commentary here. I am reposting here for review, because this needs to be known about how this bogus charge is being brought to the forefront.

Well, actually, this rallly is being held in Gainesville (not Alachua) and it is interesting that the Kerry campaign would notice this flier.

Did you notice the fax time stamp on the top left of the fax....August 18 5:56 PM?

Do you know who was in Gainesville, Florida on August 18 in the evening, appearing about 8 blocks away from where this rally will be held? (notice that the event hasn't taken place yet).

Del Sandusky.

Del Sandusky of the "I support John Kerry and the Swift Vets are liars" fame. Mr. Sandusky appeared August 18 at 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Unified Training Center (809 W University) in Gainesville, Florida. They basically had a 2 hour "Hate Bush" fest. I believe that we have a video of the entire event too. There were plenty of MoveOn.org supporters in the room that night with Mr. Sandusky, a personal representative, an emissary if you will, of the Kerry campaign.

Coincidentally, the Downtown Plaza is located on University & Main Street and I wouldn't be surprised if the flier was handed out at or around this event or posted on one the "flier post" that are found in that area of town.

Read the FREEPER After Action Report posted by Chieftain (Veritas et equitas ad Votum and OPBuzz were also in attendance).

Any chance that Mr. Sandusky saw some opportunity in what otherwise a poorly-worded flier to claim a false connection? Hmmm.

Well, it would be fair to say that Mr. Sandusky would be able to get ahold of Mr. Kerry and/or his minions, so it is not that far of a stretch.

Isn't it just a little coincidental that 1 of 6 men that is being dragged across the country to show support for Kerry was in Gainesville Florida right about the same time that the fax was fax to someone, who is now publishing the fax? Why Alachua/Gainesville?

Just a little odd, don't you think?

So, just to recap.

1. There is a vaguely-written flier that has the name of several "like minded" groups (meaning, they could all be generally classified as anti-Kerry) to an event that hasn't even happened yet and doesn't have any official or representative from the Bush-Cheney campaign as the keynote speaker.

...and...

2. An event, in Gainesville, already took place and at the event a personal representative of Mr. Kerry and Mr. Kerry's campaign was the keynote speaker where the event was attended by many MoveOn.org supporters.

Now, which one of these events appears to have coordination?

That, my friends, is what you call blowing the lid right off of this story and exposing it for the weak charge that it is.

Are you saying you know for a fact that the flyer was fabricated by a Kerry supporter?

BUMP to this story.

Hi, all, I am bumping you to this story as an FYI, just in case the Kerry camp tries to used this story for their political gain.

Chieftain...if you have a larger bump list of Florida FREEPERs, feel free to pass it along.

It was on Hannity and Colmes already, and I have been told that a local TV station carried something about it on the 10:00 news.

Not at all. I am saying that Kerry's buddy, Del Sandusky was in Gainesville about 8 blocks from where this event is going to be held. He was hosting/guest speaking at an event where there were tons of MoveOn.org types.

It is common for fliers to be posted in certain areas of Gainesville, especially in the downtown area, which is where Mr. Sandusky was speaking and where this event is going to be held tomorrow.

It obviously was brought to the Kerry campaign's attention and it seems like at a high-level, because the story is supposedly being picked up by some of the wires.

I'm simply saying that it was probably Mr. Sandusky that was the conduit to get this poorly-worded flier to the top Kerry advisors. Now, maybe one of the MoveOn.org lackies in attendance brought the flier to his attention, or, maybe he saw it on one of these flier poles that are common in that area.

My point was really that the Kerry campaign is going to accuse the Alachua county GOP and the Swift Vets (and the President and the Vice President, who knows, Halliburton too with how childish the dems have been acting lately) of coordination for an event that hasn't even occured yet.

Meanwhile, his personal emissary (Mr. Sandusky) already hosted/guest spoke at an event that was filled, for the most part, with MoveOn.org types.

In earnest, it is a ludicrous charge of coordination either way. BUT, if there was any real coordination, it would (at this point in time at 12:04 AM on August 20) be at the event that occurred on August 18th. And, at that event, it was Mr. Sandusky, a key player in the Kerry campaign, mingling with all of these MoveOn.org types. The other event isn't even set to start for another 14 hours. It hasn't even taken place, no one (not GOP, not Bush Cheney folks, not Swift Vet folks, not people walking their dog, whoever) has showed up, but the Kerry folks are already crying that there has been coordination.

I think Scott Camil still walks those streets, too. He was one of Kerry's guys back in the 70's, and he's no stranger to Gainesville. Wouldn't be a bit surprised to know that Kerry still has him on as a wing man.

That's a really good point. Coincidentally, one of the big Kerry supporters in this area is the new mayor. She and Scott Camil have parterned up on several issues (specifically the police citizens review board, which, thankfully, got voted down).

And, it might be worth remembering that Scott Camil was the guy (well, one of the guys) that was really behind the assissination discussions that John Kerry attended in Kansas City (Source: Witnesses Say Kerry Participated in 1971 'Assassination Summit').

Certainly wouldn't be a surprise if either Del Sandusky or "Scott the Assassin" Camil were behind getting this flier to J F'n K.

You are absolutely correct about Sandusky's appearance there and the timing relating to this fax.

Also, don't know if anyone else on this thread commented on this yet, but the flyer says VETS not VETERANS. I pointed it out here:

The Kerry Kool-aiders are grasping are straws. There is NOTHING remotely wrong with this flyer. They are just trying to make something out of nothing.

If you really wanna show your disgust with Kerry, follow the instructions below:

Freeper N. Theknow says:
"It’s faster than a checkbook, more powerful than a Democratic demagogue, able to lay waste to a liar Kerry with the single click of a mouse. It's a little bird of truth, it's plain to see Kerry's unfit... it's... it's...SuperFReep!

Yep, I was probably only eleven or twelve back then, but I still heard all the family discussions going on at the dinner table. Scott Camil was a bad guy for my family even back then. Some things you just don't forget.

I live in Gainesville, and listen to talk radio all day, including two local shows. Neither mentioned anything about this. Our local GOP leader is WAY too smart for this. If this were real, I would have found out one way or another before now. It IS BS. I'll be at the Gainesville Plaza tomorrow to see what happens. Hopefully I'll have a chance to take on some lefties.

You know what else is odd? Why/how would you have "facts" from websites at a rally? Why/how would you have "excerpts" from a book at a rally?

The whole thing just sounds stupid and suspicious.

there is an article at sunone.com it did start with the sandusky appearance, but i didn't read it that it was done by democrats... i think a few loaded vets thought it up. one named mike bradley, said they spent 31.00 to make signs and flyers. just for fun was my read, and it would have been fun. but the flyer does not say the SBVs are gonna be there, it talks about exerpts.
i am on the ground here too..........

Area activist, Kerry share Vietnam-era ties (Scott Camil) -- thread didn't get many hits back in March when posted, don't know if you all saw it.

"In an interview with The Sun, Camil acknowledged that, as a 24-year-old Marine sergeant fresh from Vietnam, he had proposed a philosophical concept of assassination. But he said the idea was just that, and was voted down at the meeting." -- wonder what philosophical concepts Camil is ok with today? Ya'll watch it down there. . .

also from that article: "Although he has no official connection to the Kerry campaign, Camil - who until the March 9 Democratic primary supported Rep. Dennis Kucinich - said, "I am heading up Veterans for Kerry."

What about that meeting where THERE WAS A DISCUSSION REGARDING ASSASSINATING MEMBERS OF CONGRESS? Why hasn't that gotten out?

I thought that was related to Winter Soldier... Now THAT WOULD SCARE THE SHEEPLE.

Question for Viet Nam vets (thanks for your service) -- another article from New York Sun 3/12/04 with info on Scott Camil:

"Mr. Camil was known to colleagues in the anti-war movement as “Scott the Assassin.” Mr. Camil told The New York Sun he got the name in Vietnam for “sneaking down to the Vietnamese villages at night and killing people.”

by "killing people", is he referring to Viet Cong or collaborators? If not, is Camil admitting to committing the same atrocities kerry claimed?
