US Senator John Kerrys campaign team today called for a book which contains proven falsehoods about the presidential candidates Vietnam war record to be taken off the shelves. In that case, sue for libel. See you in court Kerrystein.

I think conservatives need a investigative show. What should we call it?
"Everything the Left Never Wanted You to Know About America*"
(but we'll tell you anyway)
Howzat? : )

Kerry and Edwards want to keep this controversy going through the RNC Convention. Why???
It's better for them than having to be confronted with their Far Left voting record in the U. S. Senate. If Kerry can portray himself as the "victim," he can keep it going. If his bluff is called and his records are made public, then he'll have to run on his Senate record (which should be the measure of what kind of President he'd make anyway).
As entertaining as all this is, Republicans are not doing the country a favor by enabling Kerry to pull this sham on the American people. He and the Liberal Senator from North Carolina should be forced TO RUN ON THEIR RECORDS. That is the only legitimate criteria for measuring their level of commitment to the defense of the nation. There's enough evidence from the last 20 years to label him as a person who does not speak truth, without going back to the 60's and 70's.
The call to silence the book reminds us of Hitler's burning of the books in the 1930's in Germany. What he was trying to do was to silence truth and the ideas of liberty in order that people would forget truth and not understand his real ambition: to assume power over the people.

I went to Walmart web site and checked on it and they said it was out of stock. I wonder if they decided to say that as opposed to being accused of censorship. I really doubt they are already out of stock.

I just got my copy at my local Borders. I just happen to be at the Mall of America recently. I stopped at every book store there and amazingly, no one had the book in yet.
I was told it would not be available until September 1st.

Kerry is gonna create a run on this book. Maybe they can get it banned in Boston. It would be great marketing to have "Banned in Boston" stamped on the 2nd edition.

No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them...So how do they explain Mikie Moore and Al Frankin's book's getting published?

I'm in Georgia.
I went to Barnes & Noble this morning to buy the book. I went to the same book store that I bought my last Ann Coulter book. I found the Coulter book in the back of the store buried even though it was a best seller. So I assumed this would be the case of Unfit to Command.
I went to the info desk only to be told they were sold out and I could be put on a reserve list. The clerk was quite helpful and actually nice. She said they sold out of the 25 copies they had immediately. A new shipment was due in 5 days. As I thanked her another customer came up asking for the book.
I went over to Waldon Books and was told the same thing.
This book is big.
BTW, Maureen Dowd's book was quite available in both stores. Shelves were stocked.

I can't wait for THE MOVIE!

No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran, he said. I suppose that would take these two fictitious tales out of the running then.

They need to clear some of the Bush-bashing overstock off the shelves and make some space for the Number ONE best selling book. Hell, maybe they could drag a table over to the front of the store and dedicate it to
Unfit for Command.
I won't hold my breath.

Good Lord!
Don't sneak up on me like that.

..."book which contains proven falsehoods"
PROVEN FALSEHOODS? PROVEN FALSEHOODS????
WTF?
To: Lightfinger
"As, he has YET to be able to prove ANY..." Well, sure he did. He said that Bush put the swift boat bets up to writing a book so that he could beat Kerry. So obviously, that makes the book full of falsehoods. < /RAT logic >

I noticed the sCambodian's eyes yesterday too. He is starting to look like a character from a cheap horror flick.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving fella...

Kerry wrote a book sometime ago, "Winter Soldier", apparently he does not want anyone to read it, it is out of print and does not want it re-issued. The only way to get it, if possible, is a used book store or go to one of the companies that find out of print books.
