True. As for the other issues you mention, they've gotten lost in the din of Vietnam. In a sense Kerry made his own bed back at the Convention and now he has to lie down in it. Otherwise he would really be having an effect in getting people noticing about the issues that concern them, like outsourcing and immigration. Quite simply, he's running the worst campaign any one has ever seen. He should be putting this election away but he's not. That says something about his inherent limitations as a candidate for national office.
"Most Freepers are reluctant to admit it might be a bit more like August, 1992.
Bush Sr. was a shoo in for a second term - if his war in Iraq had ended better.
It may very well be that Bush Jr's. future depends on a simple fact - how much will a barrel of oil cost in November?"
In 92 the economy did Bush Sr in not the war in Iraq."Its the economy stupid." This Bush term we have decent growth with weak job creation.I think the economy is a net wash.
In 92 Perot took a net of millions of votes from Bush Sr.This year Nader will take a few from Kerry.
This is nothing like 92. It is not very similar to 88 when Bush Sr rode the goodwill from the Reagan years into office but is closer an analogy than 92.
Licorice: "Howie Carr, YOU ARE NOT FAIR revealing this.
Miguel and HotLips were the top double-secret private sexy names
only used between me and my savior, John Kerry.
BWWWWAHHHHHHHHHHHHH".
Out here in Oregon they've had ground troops out every week for months. I have never yet met someone collecting signatures/registering voters for Bush or the Republicans.
I'm still waiting for hitlery and her minions to strike
out somehow to help scrap the kerry election.
If he wins her desire for 08 are toast so u know she will do anything to help defeat the boreing horsefaced one.
Fearless predict that youi'll have several hundred inquiries asking you to explain it..
It's not the same because for one thing the third-party candidate who will hurt a main-party candidate is Nader not Perot. Nader's candidacy will hurt Kerry. Perot cost Bush I the election in '92.
You just touched on the dirty little secret of this campaign, and why I think Cabana Boy, in the end, is toast. If the Clintons don't want a RAT to win, they'll do everything they can(behind the scenes, of course) to make sure it doesn't happen. Witness what happened to Howard Dean. The Toons didn't want him to win the nomination, and the media turned on him.
There are enough Clinton sycophants and knee-pad wearers in the media, who will turn on Ketchup Boy just like they did on Dean, the moment they get the word from Chappaqua, to ensure that Dubya will breeze through in the end.

Not a good month, in other words. It's probably too much to say that the wheels are coming off Kerry's campaign the way they did off his political mentor's 16 summers ago. He hasn't climbed into a tank yet, but isn't it odd that he reaches out to Mike McCurry almost 16 years to the day that Dukakis brought back a sleazemeister named John Sasso?Just give him a little time! :^D
Kerry: America needs a 'regime change' too
As Grampa Dave says: "Christmas, 1968: Kerry with his Swift Boat Crew
in Scambodia. Kerry is wearing his CIA hat that came from Richard Nixon
a month before Nixon was sworn in as President."
Strangely enough, even the lamestream media is now mentioning that the cost of oil is not wholly related to terrorism and Iraq. Today, I heard them EXPLICITLY state that increased DEMAND from red China and India is largely responsible. I don't think that they mentioned the other factors are the booming economy and that we have poor refinery capacity, but even that is sinking into the skulls of the economics-education-deprived masses.

LOL
"Kerry has the charisma of a mountain goat."
Hey, I like mountain goats. Name me one person who likes Kerry.
Actually, I'd say this election looks rather more like 1984.
An extreme left wing vet campaigning against a conservative the press has lambasted as an idiot controlled by his advisors while the country is in a war the left denounces.
> "Kerry has the charisma of a mountain goat."
And likewise the intellec'
Sadly, in 1984 we didn't have to content with F9/11, George Soros's billions, an unabashedly partisan press, unprecedented amounts of widespread voter fraud, etc.
