Most candidates by now would be undergoing a probe by the press of their record. Does anyone ever see or hear the press talking about John Kerry's record? Ever? Anyone? Hello?? (crickets chirp, a tumbleweed rolls by...) Guess not.

Dukakis didn't have a $200 million surplus OVER H.W. Bush in soft money armaments as Kerry does. Ads are only half the story. The Dems have massive ground troops in 17 states, all funded by tens of millions from Soros, Peter Lewis, Steve Bing, and many others.
Yeah, they hope millions will buy them the White House. They never heard of John Checchi here in California. Spent a fortune to win the Democratic Party primary in 1998 with nothing to show for it.

My suspicion is that if an incumbent loses, it is a clear mandate - a mandate for change. If a sitting president fails to win reelection, I don't think it matters if he is running against Abraham Lincoln or Elmer Fudd.
Kerry has the charisma of a mountain goat. But a better cantidate from the dims could wreak havoc... say a Hillary.
Ultimately, America is less about what has happened in the past, but far more about dreams of what the future holds. That's the Ace card the dims have always weilded.
We'll see. But a lot of things might happen, the fat lady ain't sang a note yet!
If Kerry offered people a reason to VOTE for him, you'd be right. Its all about hating Bush. I can't see Kerry holding onto many of those swing voters he covets because he hasn't talked about anything but Vietnam. Unbelievable.
Viet Nam is hardly relevant anymore. But Kerry has grabbed the outsourcing and immigration issues... and issues like that have an immediate effect on people today.
Yes, 9/11 did happen, a couple years ago. But if somebody got laid off this year, they might consider that more important.
I'm only mentioning this because I think the Pubbies really dropped the ball on this issue, and it only takes little things to swing it one way or another.
