If the mayor had issued hunting licenses, and declared open season on gays, would that be OK, too, because the mayor felt it was "the thing to do", regardless of what the law says?

Hmmm...I didn't think so.....

homophobia implies a deep fear of homosexuals, Bush does not fear them, he dislikes and disapproves of their choice to be gay

It is called Democracy... Where the people make the laws by majority vote, and unless SF plans on seceding from California... They are subject to the laws of the state, which is the smallest sovereign unit in our union.

So the liberals should just suck it up and get with the program. If they want to see laws passed, they better start convincing the rest of us that what they plan is credible and workable, let alone acceptable... They should stop using the judicial process, or county clerks and public servants, to make, what are essentially, laws.

The same goes for the more radical right groups too. I support a lot of the stuff on the right, but I dislike the way many of them go about expressing and obtaining their political agendas. Far too much like the liberals... All talk, no compromise, and in the end no solutions.

Morford: Still Proud To Be In S.F.

Gee, I thought New Jersey might be more his cup of herbal tea given recent events.

Swallow this, America: Same-sex marriage is now a pressing and urgent and heartfelt issue, one that is virtually guaranteed to become a foregone conclusion in our generation.

Yes, that's right. Legal, happy, stable same-sex marriages are just a matter of time. They are just a matter of perspectival torque. They are just a matter of knocking the yellowed teeth out of our leader's small-minded ideologies and draining the bile from the sexually terrified and the morally indignant and the tragically ignorant.

This guy is nuts.........

Let's see here Mr. Proud to be in SF....Dem honchos turn over 200,000 bucks of the people's money to a 'teach the chinese immigrant english' scam that miraculously finds its way into the campaign fund of Kevin Shelley, CA Sec. of State (D).

Scandal after scandal comes out of Rat controlled Frisco but Mr. Proud has nothing to say.

Just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the leftist sewer that is Frisco.

I actutally enjoy reading Morford's columns. His hyperbolic run-on sentences and his desperate need to fill his columns with sexual references, whether they have anything to do with the subject at hand or not, is very amusing.

No one in his/her right mind truly believed that San Francisco's landmark same-sex marriages would stand the test of the scowling California Supreme Court or the white-hot glare of the rabid homophobic war-drunk BushCo Right. It was almost no contest, a leather-clad dove versus an archaic, oily tank from the word go -- or, rather, from the words "I do."

He's a liar. Just like every other leftist in this city (mine), they were hoping for results like those in Massachusetts, where the Gay-stapo led the charge to illegally scuttle a proposition similar to Prop. 22 in California ("The Knight Initiative", which made one man-one woman the only marriage recognized in the state Family Code), which was followed shortly by the maniacal verdict that marriage of same-sex couples MUST be allowed under the commonwealth's Constitution.

Gavin Newsom wants you to believe that he really believed what he did was legal, when, in fact, he was really counting on the leftist activist judges in San Francisco and across California to ignore the will of the people and create new law from whole cloth, making his defiance and subsequent exoneration the foundation of an ambitious political career.

Miss Morford got the under this time on how many words it would take before the term "BushCo" appeared.

Morford used to vent his ugliness in the print edition of the Chronicle. Now he is relegated to the on line edition where he is read by far less people.

After Missy's total melt down last week, I am prepared to issue a new Missy Morford 'Sand in Vagina' rating.

From last weeks 50 grit (coarse), Missy's sand in her vagina is lowered to a 80 grit (medium)

That is all.

Normally, the GOP gets 15% of the black male vote.

This year it will be at least 30%.
