Reprinted from NewsMax.com Oh, Now the Germans Like America Hooray! The U.S. is pulling troops out of ungrateful Saddam-loving Germany, and dollar-addicted Old Europeans are in moaning as their withdrawal symptoms begin. Baumholder, a town in rural western Germany, will lose $150 million a year if the U.S. military training area leaves, Mayor Volkmar Pees complained today to the Associated Press. "We view this with great concern," Bamberg spokesman Steffen Schuetzewohl chimed in. Tough luck, Germans. Should've thought of that before you launched all those vicious anti-U.S. demonstrations!
"Base closures would hit us very hard," fretted Ole Kruse, spokesman for the Bavarian city of Wuerzburg, home of the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division.
SCHADENFREUDE!
LOL!!!

LOL!
Should have thought of that before you all started calling us Hitler like
Y'all wanted us out ... Well you got your wish
I wonder if UBL knows that the Germans will soon have training campgrounds available.

Merry Christmas, Germany! :)

Oh, Now the Germans Like America
Nah..they like our money and lament the fact that they'll have to save their own butts from now on.
Germany, France: Don't bother calling, the line will be busy.
To be fair, most of America's staunchest supporters in Germany were folks who lived around military bases. For the most part people in Baumholder have been great hosts for the last 50 years despite the trouble that some of our more idiotic 18 year olds cause every once in a while.
I can even imagine some US soldiers wishing there weren't a change. But we need them freed up. And Germany failed us when we led the war against terror. The nation, as a whole, used us and abused us. Besides, we can bring some tax dollars back to the US, and as one caller said yesterday, the rats won't be able to block their votes. FReegards....
DUH!
Then rest of the World would get pissy and demand that we go and seperate them again.

Well Comrades, you can plainly see how the Soviets would have treated you if not for our 'occupation'.....(if you can call our presence an occupation)....
Good luck with them...in round two
auf Wiedersehen...schmucks
I ran and or worked the 'night shift' in the ER in Idar Oberstein & Neubreucke.....before my 1049 came down...our 18 yr olds had their fun all right....no doubt about that..payday weekend was something else again......
Comrade didnt seem all that happy with us back in 68...
Nothin like standing in a 'rape formation' (along with a 100 other 18 yr olds....) at 5 am on a frosty morning to get your blood going.....
Go listen to Gordon Sinclair and you tell me we aren't "FAIR".

Put down his leg.... he stopped pissing on America?
Doch!
Next time around they can HAVE France!
Sorry. But damn!
First of all, we were a couple of hanging chads away from electing Al -Earth in the balance- Gore. Second, if you look at the electoral map of Germany, the only reason the conservatives lost is because of communist East Germany. Third, the same thing happens here in America everytime a base is closed.
Ok....I hope the guy I stole em from ain't here!

That is handled easily enough. Move a bunch of the troops to Poland.
They see all those civil service jobs leaving and military spending within the community, heehee.
Quit yelling at me.
The irony of all this for me is that these troops are OCCUPATION troops from WWII.
With all of the complaining about the oppression of the presence of US forces in Iraq, the sheer unilateral imperialism of it all.
In my opinion, if W is responsible for making this move now, it is brilliant. If we are so bad, why is Germany complaining about the return of occupation forces to the US?
How many troops do we have over there? 100,000 or so? We have 110,000 in Iraq. 150,000 are deployed in the Pacific right now on 7 carrier battle groups.
How can a democrat in good conscious oppose such a move anyway, since the very presence of our troops is so hateful to the international community.
And to steal a bit from Rush, what's the world's plan for Sudan. Bushels of men, women, and children are being slaughtered over there every month. If they don't like the way we liberate countries, perhaps the world can show us how they do it.
They can deal with Iran by themselves as well.
Sorry.
