"His endorsement of Foxx reveals just how principled he is."
Interesting point, but I see it diffently. In my opinion, Tabor's endorsement was personal payback. He and Robinson denounced each other in the strongest of terms during the primary, since they appealed to the same constituancy. They now dislike each other, and it's not a mild dislike.
Raleigh News and Observer, a Democrat rag onced owned by Josephus Daniels, a well known Democrat party boss and white supremacist.
Which is precisely why Tabor did so poorly in the primary. His claims of Christianity only sucked in a few of the voters, the rest of the constituency could see him for what he is: a narcissistic manipulator.
Found some stomach churning links:
Apparently, Virginia has had some very special training. A link or two is worth an entire essay:
http://www.stateaction.org/alternatives/altbody2.cfm?volume=8.1&artnumber=2
http://www.stateaction.org/alternatives/altbody2.cfm?volume=9.2&artnumber=10
Who are these people that took her to Chile to give her special training? Why did they need to leave the country? Why does she need to be trained in "Civil Marriage Equality" and "Contraceptive Equity"?
Tabor is a prima dona. His endorsement of Foxx means almost nothing. He didn't get votes from anyone but the K-ville Nazis and his family. His conservatism seems to be pretty much of a front anyway.
Helvey is a Democrat operative. Ed Powell outed him early in the campaign. His radio and TV ads late in the campaign consisted of weepy declarations that Vernon is a bully. He was a distant fourth and his support was mostly among unaffiliated voters and Winston-Salem moderates.
In both cases, most of the voters who showed up at the polls and voted for anyone but the top three are not likely to show up again for the runoff. There have been some migrations back and forth between the Foxx voters and the Robinson voters, but that is pretty much a wash. The Broyhill voters were mostly voting on name recognition. The few of those who show up will also vote name recoginition and Vernon has certainly accomplished that.
Make no mistake, this will be close. I think Vernon will prevail, though.
I am starting to become convinced that Foxx is a liberal mole.
If you follow the links three posts above and look at some of the training she seems to have taken, that would seem to be a safe bet, although I think that she might prefer it if we used the term "Progressive" mole.
I googled a representative sample of the names of attendees of that first link you posted.
Its about a 4:1 ratio of democrats:republicans.
State Legislators Selected as Eleanor Roosevelt Global Leadership Fellows
Twelve state legislators have been chosen as Fellows to participate in a pilot class for the Eleanor Roosevelt Global Leadership Institute. The selected Fellows, all of whom are alumni of CPA's Flemming Fellows Institute, share a commitment to the CPA model of values-based, consensus-building leadership and demonstrate an active interest in the impact of globalization on their communities - local, state and regional. Many have witnessed the effect of capital movement, job transfers, trade rules, immigration and technological change.
Through a 10-month program that includes two intensive retreats, legislators will be encouraged to think in the future tense, act with global knowledge and awareness, and become effective messengers for a more progressive, global consciousness.
The domestic retreat will be held April 20-23 at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund's Pocantico Conference Center in Pocantico Hills, New York. In an immersion setting that highlights values and experiential elements, participants will be challenged to examine values, to explore new modes of mediation, to probe cross-cultural issues, and to look through an international lens when examining policy issues.
The international retreat, to be held October 7-13 in Santiago, Chile (with visits to Valparaiso, Concepcion and other locations), will provide opportunities for Roosevelt Fellows to interact with peers, meet representatives of the public and private sectors and the non-governmental organization community, and be exposed first-hand to how an advanced developing country sees its challenges and opportunities in the global community.

Do we know anything about any of the other legislators who were trained with Foxx?
These inspiring individuals are the bold new leaders who can build consensus across the divides of party, race, ethnicity, class and gender. We call them "practical idealists." Washington Post columnists called them "political spirit lifters." As devolution pushes more responsibility to states, they are the problem solvers who can restore public faith in our democratic institutions.

Here's some sample text of some "political spiriting lifting" from the first article I happened to click on at the CPA site: http://www.stateaction.org/alternatives/index.htm
Then, in 1978, anti-tax crusaders in California sponsored and passed Proposition 13, which slashed property taxes and ignited a nationwide tax revolt. The Reagan victory of 1980 allowed right-wing economic, corporate, and social organizations to launch a coordinated attack that continues today-using the ballot measure system to promote an extremist agenda: so-called "paycheck protection" initiatives used to silence the voices of working families; anti-affirmative action initiatives that turn back the clock on civil rights; anti-choice initiatives that place more restrictions on women's reproductive health rights; anti-environmental initiatives that give polluters free rein; anti-gay initiatives that sanction discrimination; and voucher initiatives that seek to move public funds away from public schools.
After years of battling the flood of right-wing ballot measures, national progressive groups founded BISC in 1998 to help organizations, legislators and activists wage more effective ballot initiative campaigns.
"We're trying to help progressives realize that, if used strategically, initiative campaigns can engage disinterested voters, help support progressive candidates, build coalitions, frame a progressive message, and create proactive change," said Wilfore.
In recent years, progressives have used ballot initiatives to enact clean election laws, protect the environment, increase tobacco taxes to expand health care, and close the gun show loophole.
The first name to come to mind with him is WEASEL. He's a democrat as well.
He defeated an anti-gun republican in a slightly dem leaning district based out of Battle Creek, a small to mid mid sized union city of about 53,000.
Schauer claimed to support Conceal Carry. He voted for the final bill, but against everything else, and then cosponsored an anti-gun bill package that includes one gun a month and a ban on private sales at gun shows. He opposed Conceal Carry in cars too - While saying he's pro-2a.
I'm going to send this link to Vernon. It's too late to use it in a commerical, but maybe he'll be able to use it in an interview or something.
She's a dem from Michael Moore's hometown of Davison. Very leftist and strongly anti-gun. She's term limited out.
Representative Mark Schauer, MI
See my above post on Schauer. I don't think much of him. I forgot to add that he changed his views when he found out he had a chance at a leadership position in the Michigan House. He wants to be Minority Leader(Majority leader actually, but the dems need to take about 15 seats for that to happen).
Representative Judith Scranton, MI
Scranton was term limited in 2002. Scranton (R) used to be my rep and we go back aways since I played football with her son. Real nice lady and somewhat moderate on some issues. She is pro-choice, which I disagreed with, and which gave her a liberal reputation on everything else automaticly. Since I'm a friend of the family and also because she has given me a straight answer every time on issues, I gave her a pass there in the primaries. Other than the abortion isssue, she was good on the rest of the issues I cared about. She was pro-2a, if quiet about it. Her main issues were transportation issues (Roads are big in my county), affirmative action(against), and fiscal conservatism. She didn't care for welfare at all.
Dear Gunowner:
This year Michigan comes to a crossroad. Because of term limits, we will have a new Governor and a massive turnover in the state legislature. There is a lot at stake for gunowners, sportsmen and sportswomen, and we must closely examine our public officials positions on our issues.
Mickey Mortimer, a candidate in the state Senate race for the 19th district: (Most of Jackson and all of Calhoun Counties), stands up for the issues advocated by the (formerly pro gun Organization).
Mark Schauer is not pro-gun, despite what he may say:
 Schauer voted against reforming the laws governing black powder firearms. Currently, only Michigan and New Jersey treat black powder firearms the same as modern firearms.
 Schauer voted for several anti self-defense amendments in the CCW package, including one that would not allow firearms in cars, which would have effectively killed CCW.
 Schauer voted for an amendment that banned CCW from any property owned by an institution of higher learning.
 Schauer cosponsored gun ban extremist Laura Bairds HB 4926, which bans private sales of any type at gun shows.
 Schauer cosponsored gun ban extremist Gilda Jacobs HB 4918, which limits gunowners to buying one gun a month, and defines pistols as firearms that are 12 inches or less in length. This is a ban on all firearms that are between 13 and 26 inches in length, since FEDERAL law defines firearms under 26 inches as a PISTOL.
Mickey Mortimer is Pro-2nd Amendment:
 Mortimer is a gun owner.
 Mortimer understands our issues.
 Mortimer cosponsored the CCW package, and voted against ALL of the anti self-defense amendments in that bill.
 Mortimer has a 100% record on issues advocated by (the org), including voting to support Black Power reform.
Please call Mickey Mortimer at (his campaign number), and thank him for standing up for the rights of gunowners, sportsmen, and sportswomen:
Sincerely,
I didn't know CaL was working for Robinson, but it makes sense. He seems a lot like Keyes. That TV ad Robinson was running was simply the best political TV ad I have ever seen. No wonder the liberals (including the RINO establishment GOP) are so scared.
Urgent request... Any insights on the other reps from around the country (see posts above), anybody? The primary is Tuesday. Any info will help!
N.C. Candidate: Pakistani a 'Terrorist'
The Associated Press
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A Pakistani man charged with immigration violations after filming Charlotte skyscrapers is described as a ``terrorist'' who came to the country ``to kill you'' in a new television ad from a North Carolina congressional candidate. Vernon Robinson began airing the ad days before his runoff election Tuesday in a Republican primary against state Sen. Virginia Foxx.
Kamran Akhtar, arrested July 20, has been in custody ever since on immigration charges and on charges he made false statements to officers.
Authorities say he also videotaped buildings in Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas, and an investigation into whether he has ties to terrorism is ongoing. His family has said Akhtar is a video buff.
Akhtar's attorney, George Miller, called the political ad ``grossly unfair.''
``We haven't even had a probable cause hearing,'' Miller told the Charlotte Observer. ``There's been no trial. There's been nothing.''
Stricter enforcement of immigration laws has been a central issue in Robinson's campaign. His new ad shows a picture of Akhtar.
``When Vernon said our unguarded Mexican border was a threat to our national security, the liberals laughed,'' an announcer says in the ad. ``They're not laughing anymore. This is Pakistani terrorist Kamran Akhtar. He got arrested videotaping targets in Charlotte, North Carolina. He came here illegally, across our Mexican border.''
Then Robinson speaks: ``I'm Vernon Robinson and I approve this message because Akhtar didn't come here to live the American dream. He came here to kill you. In Congress, I will shut that border down.''
Robinson doesn't apologize for the ad.
``If it quacks like a duck and we're in war time, I think it's a fair assessment,'' he said. ``He wasn't a tourist (and) wasn't here to study architecture.''

And he ain't a citizen, so "Too bad!"
