The letter I wrote to FOX...

Dear FOX NEWS,

I'm more upset to see/hear the way the media is handling this issue than I can say. Rather than REALLY checking the veracity of the STORY the SwiftBoatsVets are telling- you are all simply attacking the ad itself. This is insane, why isn't ANYONE in the media checking the story? STOP. LOOK. LISTEN. What if it's TRUE??? From John McCain down to nearly everyone at FOX NEWS- you're all REACTING rather than researching.

I don't know if the story these men tell is true or false. But I will say this- my son is an active-duty soldier in the 101st AB who served in Iraq, and I want to know if the man running against President Bush to replace him as COMMANDER IN CHIEF is lying about his record in the military. Don't you?

I am so concerned at the direction I've seen FOX NEWS headed lately- where is the fair and balanced coverage? Where is the investigative reporting? Where does the buck really stop?

I told him to look at the ad. Several of the men in the ad ARE THE VERY SAME MEN in the photo that Kerry shows when bragging that his band of brothers support him.

It's time for some context.

If Kerry were a fighter pilot, he'd only have a back-seater "on the same" plane with him.

If Kerry were a B-52 bomber pilot, he'd only have about six men "on the same" plane with him.

If Kerry were a tank commander, he'd only have five men "on the same" tank with him.

In each of these cases, he'd still be a part of a larger squadren of men who bunk together, get briefed together, who eat together, and who party together.

Each of these boats was like a squad in the Army, which is what, 7 or 8 men? The squads make up a company. Believe me you know the men in your company not just your squad. You know who were the screw-ups, who were good soldiers, who were religious, who had the clap, etc. It was the same for me in the Navy. I was Flight Deck ordnance (6 men), but knew all about the dozens of other ordnance men on the Hanger deck, in the magazines deep inside the ship.

Once I was involved in a little movie done locally. In one scene one of the local TV "personalities" had been hired to do this monologue.

Well, the TV "star" shows up and he asks for the script. Then he excuses himself and goes into another room. We can see him through some glass and he's reading the script. We could see his lips move but not hear him.

So, the guy reads the script then comes out. They get him ready then he walks away for a second then comes back and says he's ready to go. They say "action" and this guy does the long monologue (it was a technical training film) and gets every word 100% right! One take! Amazing!

Well, we all thought "this guy is a genius". He's some kind of super brainiac. Well, he was not. Actually, he was not that sharp. He just read whatever they put in front of him on TV when they told him to.

Who can tell me how he did what I describe above?
