Swift Boat Veterans For Truth Responds To Senator McCain
Thu Aug 05 2004 17:10:20 ET
"Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has more than 250 members, many of whom were wounded or highly decorated in Vietnam.
We purchased with our blood and service the right to be heard, to set the record straight about our unit, and to tell the truth about John Kerry's military service record.
We respect Senator McCain's right to express his opinion and we hope he extends to us the same respect and courtesy, particularly since we served with John Kerry, we knew him well and Senator McCain did not."
Rear Admiral Roy Hoffmann (ret.), Founder and Chairman of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
Bump to the Top!
HUH?
And then ?
Either the letter was VERY short, you forgot to post the comments or it hasnt been said yet...
Care to elaborate on what they wrote?
Where, on the Limbaugh site, is anything having to do with this?
I give you a F.
Dear Senator McCain.
Bite Me.
SBV
I'll tantalize you by telling you it was a GREAT, forceful statement, which Rush actually just read twice on his program.
I'll see if I can find it somewhere and put you out of your misery!
Secret invisible ink writing?
I can't find the letter on the site.
Statement from the Rear Admiral that heads the SBVfT, that the SBV paid for the right to make their statements with their own blood ... VERY powerful. Hopefully one of us can find the text and post it here.
Please do....it seems to be invisable
Sorry, my computer really slowed down as I was getting the details and the site crashed.
Here are more details..
Rush just read a short letter on the air that said that the swiftboat veterans who served with Kerry felt they had earned the right to tell the truth about John Kerry. And that they served with Kerry, McCain didn't.
I'll look for the text...
When you find it send that to McCain's office.
Bite Me.Shove it.
SBV
I don't think it's on his site yet - he read it about 10-15 minutes ago. I'm still searching!
Is anyone else having a problem getting to the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth site? Is it just me, is it just very popular, or are the DUmmies doing a DoS attack?
"Dear Senator McCain.
Bite Me.
SBV"
Can you make us all copies of this so we can explain it word for word to our liberal friends? I think it is too nuanced for broad assimilation by liberals without explanation.. :)
I just heard Rush read the official response to John McCain from Adm. Hoffman, representing the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth. Hoffman said the swiftboat veterans earned, with their blood and their service, the right to speak the truth about their own unit. He said they knew Kerry well, and McCain did not.
I hope you can find a transcript of their official response. It was devastating.
Cyncooper gave me the TUscon phone number for McCain (520-670-6334...Very sweet young woman answers phone and listens.
When debating a liberal, they stated that it was people that just KNEW him, but that the actual vets who were on HIS boat loved him. That five of them were supporting him and the only other one that wasn't is dead.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Yes, I'm getting timeout errors. The site may not be able to handle the increase in traffic today.
Buttocks Full of Rice...
how many po' kids starved that night after Kerry dropped the grenade in the passing sampan?
Swiftvets needs more bandwidth...they are getting bottlenecked...
I'm pretty sure everyone's going there at once...I just got the link in an e-mail -- made it to the homepage and the "John Kerry in Vietnam" link, but now the connection is refused.
It's the "white font" method.
I'd say so. The seminar caller now on with Rush said he couldn't bring up the site.....
Plus they have the ad's video right on the home page which is a performance killer. No wonder there is trouble loading the page.
I hope they tell him to Shove It.
Who cares what McCain thinks and why does what he thinks matter it relation to this issue.
I got there, but I couldn't find the letter. It was great - the only thing I remember was that the writer (an admiral, I believe) said that the vets had paid with their blood for their right to the truth. A real stunner!
The big problem with that site is it goes straight to the video, takes up way too much bandwidth, they are overloaded.
Is anyone else having a problem getting to the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth site?I think everyone listening to a certain radio show, and the rest of the interested Internet community is trying to hit the site. Also - here's a quote from SFGate:
Retired Adm. Roy Hoffmann, head of the Swift Boat group, said they respected McCain's "right to express his opinion and we hope he extends to us the same respect and courtesy, particularly since we served with John Kerry, we knew him well and Sen. McCain did not."
If anyone has the text of the reply, please post it here ASAP. Thank you!
Speechless
I am now on their site, and it's nowhere to be found.
I searched their news page and press release page and it's not there
We knew him, we served with him, you didn't!
In other words: Shut your FAT TRAP cause you don't know what you're talkin' about!!
Rush needs to be better informed to answer guys like this caller. The swift boat vets in the ad served with Kerry. They skippered their own PCFs, but the boats operated together in groups of at least three and they were within yards of one another. They lived and ate together.
Hoffman was Kerry's former Commanding officer, thanks for finding the text.
Yeah, and the seminar caller complains the swift boat vets give no evidence to support their claims against Kerry and dived RIGHT into the AWOL story. He does not believe the people who served WITH Kerry, yet is more than willing to take the word of John Kerry on the AWOL fiction completely at face value.
The only people supporting him are the guys who served under him. His fellow Swift boat skippers and his superiors know him just as well as the ones who were on his boat. There is one enlisted man (Steve(?) Gardner) who served under him and is adamantly against him. He's also part of the SWBfT group.
I just called and gave them my opinion. She took my address and said she would get back with me through correspondence.
You mean The Rush Limbaugh Show.
Thats like guy A drives HUM-V ONE around like an idiot, those in HUM-V TWO think guy A is a moron and isnt fit to be president for his wrecklessness.
Then critics say those in HUM-V TWO "dont know him, they werent in his HUM-V"...
*sigh*
