my daughter is on the colorado trail as we speak and has been for 5 weeks. She tells me they get up very early and hike before noon because the storms come up late.

Very sound practice. We were on the Trail where it crosses Chalk Creek between Mt. Antero & Mt. Princeton two weeks ago. EVERY afternoon you can set your watch by the 3:00pm thunderstorm.

Colorado mountain mornings in summer are usually clear and cool. The clouds build around noon and produce showers that end around or just after sundown. Starlit nights away from the glare of city lights are beautiful.

A friend told me of one of his relatives getting struck and killed by lightning from 20 miles away while he was sitting on his porch, no disturbance in sight. Just a few clouds...then ZAP!

Though some of the humor here is rather crude, I firmly believe that God is in charge of the fate of each and every one of us. Sometimes I cannot explain or rationalize why certain things happen to certain people, including loved ones, but I have no doubt that God is in charge.
