Mr Affleck offered a pearl of wisdom to Mr Kerry and his consultants: "You have to enervate the base," the Hollywood heartthrob advised solemnly. That is just so damn priceless.
(And this guy won an Academy Award for screenwriting?)

Mr Affleck offered a pearl of wisdom to Mr Kerry and his consultants: "You have to enervate the base," the Hollywood heartthrob advised solemnly. enervate \EN-ur-vayt\, transitive verb:
1. To deprive of vigor, force, or strength; to render feeble; to weaken.
2. To reduce the moral or mental vigor of.
I like Ben Affleck, really I do. But he's a moron.

To his numbed, buttock-shifting listeners, the great sonorous self-regarding orotund bromidic banality of Senator Kerry and his multitude of nuances is proof of how much more serious he - and therefore they - are.Oh dear God that is classic Steyn!

It just stands to reason that the Hollywood "star" with the least personality and charisma would come out gung-ho for John Kerry. Quite fitting.

Erm... in what way has Ben Affleck, or any other movie star for that matter, swayed voters? Candidates who Hollywood types stump for wind up LOSING. It's like the Clinton effect.

He moans endlessly about the "outsourcing" of American jobs but, when it comes to his own job, he's willing to outsource American foreign policy to the mushy transnational talk-shops Ouch! I sure hope the RNC reads Steyn

Stangely, I have to agree with Affleck's advice to Kerry about the RAT base. Does he know what the word enervate relly means? I doubt it.
To enervate: to deprive of strength, force, vigor etc. To devitalize.
