Whats normal? I live in New England. One thing is for certain, if you don't like this weeks weather, next weeks is sure to be different.

Some of us south of Dallas have to get some of that rain before we worry about flooding.

Last week we got 7.5" of rain overnight.
I dont remember a rain like that in the summer.
Its good for the yard and trees though.

Alcorn County, Mississippi; we've been under a flash flood warning all night long. Many roads are blocked. The lightning was horrendous all night, from midnight to about 5a.m.

Besides, I'm on the high ground at 1100 feet above sea level. At least according to my Navman GPS.

Look like the West is now getting a weather front as well. But this image from
This Site is faded beyond belief. I know because this section of Oregon just clouded up in the past few minutes. Oh, well . . .

This is one of the best sites I have found for general weather info. Run by a bunch of Air Force meteorologists. You can link to just about anything, including, satellite and radar, and these guys will answer any, and I mean any, question on weather. They love to teach.
There is a lengthy discussion in their Forum on our unusual weather this summer. Informative and even somewhat humorous.

Well, in the past two days, it's finally felt like summertime in the Northeast (hot and humid). This is the first time I've used my a/c in about two weeks.

I live in southwestern Ohio ... we had close to 2.5 inches in rain last night thru early afternoon today. Very unusual for this late in July ... people in my area with in ground lawn sprinkler systems haven't needed to use them this summer. The Ohio River is running high with flooding in some areas ... the water is muddy brown and turbulent.
