I saw her on FOF and Friends this morning and she is a very nice, cute girl. Kilmede asked her why the Leave No Child Behind was not good, and she said it was ok, but John Kerrys plan will yadda yadda yadda, I honestly was half asleep when I heard it.

THe moral of my half-assed story is please no more pot shots at her directly. Yes she may be brainwashed, but she seems like a very good kid with, most likely, parents that tell her how to think. No anger in any form should be thought toward her, only sadness for her sheltered, socalist life.

I had a different take on this. I thought Ilana was as cute as a button and extremely well spoken. Well, of course she didn't think of this on her own! I honestly don't mind seeing young people encouraged in their beliefs to take a political stand. I don't think that it is necessarily using children to encourage them to do this; it depends on the circumstances. Ilana had plenty of enthusiasm so I assume that she wanted to be there. And what an experience for her! I don't see it assuming that she has any more wisdom than any 12-year-old does. And no, I don't want to see any child under 18 ever get the vote! But I like to see children become aware of the political scene around them if they are interesting in doing so. I'm just sorry that this cute, articulate little girl is so wrong in her beliefs! If she's got the brain she seems to have, maybe she'll yet see the light!

I thought Ilana was as cute as a button and extremely well spoken.

I'm sure she is.

I honestly don't mind seeing young people encouraged in their beliefs to take a political stand.

The problem is that you're assuming these are "her" beliefs. I don't doubt that this girl is sincere, of course, that she "likes John Kerry" (and, probably, that "George Bush is mean and icky"). I just don't think a kid that age is likely to have formed these beliefs or gathered the information to support those beliefs, on her own. She is no more than echoing what she hears her parents say at the dinner table.

Ilana had plenty of enthusiasm so I assume that she wanted to be there.

This, I don't doubt. I'm sure she is having fun. I'm also sure that she doesn't have the faintest idea what she is talking about.

But I like to see children become aware of the political scene around them if they are interesting in doing so.

I would not mind seeing this if I got the sense that it came about naturally and not as the result of ideologue parents.

I'm just sorry that this cute, articulate little girl is so wrong in her beliefs! If she's got the brain she seems to have, maybe she'll yet see the light!

Right, but meanwhile her parents have encouraged her to get up in front of the nation at age 12, at a time when she simply cannot possibly have responsibly-formed beliefs, and spout some boilerplate which is little more than regurgitated from those same parents. This is precisely what I mean by "using as a prop".

This person was articulate and told expressed the view. Do you have children around you? Are they as articulate as this young child? I think you guys are stunned and slightly jeaulous of Ms. Wexler's intelligence and articulation. So get over yourself. The Bush's are on the way out and America can return to its progressive state before the vacationing, election stealing, MR Bush occupied the office. Maybe Kerry can clean up the MESS he has made of this COUNTRY!!!!!!!

In typical Dimocrat fashion, everything is "for the children..."; we've got this (obviously) brain-washed little girl who "wows" the DNC convention; Michael Moore blurching to O'Reilly about "Would you send your CHILD to Iraq?"...it's pathetic how this party parades "the children" out for political gain.

Since none of them has ANY brass gonads, I suppose they have no choice but to hide behind the coattails of children.

"We know how to talk to our parents and get our way," kids4change.com says.

What is wrong with that picture?

Nothing at all -- her parents are flaming liberals; I'm sure she always gets her way.

I'm also quite certain that she's very concerned about education issues since she attends a private school rather than Oakland's fine public schools.

This information is readily available for anybody willing to search for it on www.whois.com. Most of the information listed above is phony, like the website and Kerry.

Thanks for playing Troll.
