A casino, no matter how flush, allocates its entertainment funds in pursuit of the bottom line. The whole point of casino shows is to attract incremental traffic; to get people into the casino and sitting at the tables and the machines.
Since gambling is forbidden to Muslims, it's hard to see how a Syrian band would do that, especially at an Indian casino. True, there are Christian Syrians, but flying in a 14 piece band for a small portion of an already very limited market doesn't compute.
I'd just like to know how this band landed up in this casino to begin with. Who made the first overture? The casino? The band? Or James Cullen, the Anthem Artist entertainment broker? He seemed pretty casual about the ordeal the band went through--which he had to find out from a reporter, not the band itself. And, as a pilot himself, his comments about their being nothing strange about their on-board behavior were strangely dismissive.
bttt...
BTW: TWA is based out of Minneapolis.
I thought you called the poster of a similar thread a "chicken little" the other day? I could be wrong.
Sycuan casino is a quite big casino here.. it is very near San diego,, and the fact that these middle eastern musicians would be playing at Sycuan, on Arabic night could be the fact that, in that immediate and surrounding area of the casino is the second largest population of MIddle easterners in the US. Perhaps that is why they were playing at sycuan.. I go there often.. but I have to admit their actions on the flight were in deed frightening..
