This should get at least as much air time as Martha Stewart and her coverup. Will it?

The Bush campaign should benefit tremendously. But, the Republicans have flubbed golden opportunities in the past.

TENET was .....

"• Legislative assistant and then legislative director to Republican U.S. Senator H. John Heinz III of Pennsylvania, specializing in national security and energy issues, 1982-85

• Staff member, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, 1985-89. Designee to vice chairman, Democratic U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont.

• Staff director, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, 1989-93. Served under chairmanship of Democratic U.S. Senator David C. Boren of Oklahoma."

Boy I thought he was on our side as well until I read this, you do not get much "pinker" than Leaky Leahy.

"I've always considered the Clinton adminsitration to be the most corrupt in US history. But the guy was popular, and this will fall on deaf Dem ears. UNLESS Kerry was up to something."

How about UNLESS Clinton was up to something. Let's think about this. Berger is no dummy. Why would a person that could probably write this stuff, purloin documents fully knowing that he is on tape? Who would benefit most from this?

We already can surmise that the Clinton's want Bush to win so Hillary has a shot in 08. Every time Kerry moves one step forward, he is knocked two steps back. Clintons book, the convention and now this. Berger is a Clinton person working for Kerry. As is Clarke, Wilson and Hollywood for that matter. Everything these guys have testified to are outright lies. We already debunked Clarke and Wilson. Now Berger.

Why are we shocked by this? If anything, this is another Clinton thorn in Kerry's side. Kerry should be looking at, "What's next?" The Clinton cabal is doing everything they can to ensure Kerry loses, even to a point of sliding Edwards onto the ticket to remove him from a candidacy in 08. VP losers make poor candidates.

No, this was all Clinton and Kerry has no clue what to do. Remember, all Kerry's people were put there by Clinton, with Teddy as the drunken advisor which played itself out to the Clintons benefit.

Which leaves us with a couple of choices.

1. Does the pressure on Kerry from both the Clinton cabal and the RNC break him ala Muskie in 68?

2. Does Kerry grow a pair and call for Berger's indictment on the charges of treason?

In option one, the door opens for Hillary in 04.
In option two, the left leaves Kerry and Bush wins bigger, opening the door to Hillary in 08.

Gotta love the Clintons.

Sandy Berger, is under criminal investigation and subject to FBI searches of his home and his office since he was caught – probably by hidden cameras – purloining copies of highly classified terrorism documents and his own handwritten notes from a secure reading room at the National Archives in Washington.

WTF? If he was caught on camera in a secure reading room, why was he allowed to "purloin" the documents in the first place? He should have been stopped on the spot.

This reaches Watergate status and launches higher above. This is really big, and Berger's actions are not just politically weasleness, it's an issue of compromised safety for the country.

...I simply have three questions..
#1..if he did this before he was to testify before "the commission" why did the FBI withhold the information they had about him?.
#2...now that this has come out, does the partisan commission stand by it's "findings" as they release the report.?
#3... what documents are "missing or lost" and why is it that the American people just let stuff like this be acceptable? Clinton's legacy is being built as we watch.
Corruption,treason,reigns supreme!!!

You know what this really is, don't you?

It's the first volley in Hillary!s 2008 presidential campaign. Or did you think it's coincidence that one day, she talk about not running against a sitting President Kerry, and the next, Sandy Berger falls on his sword?

I doubt that they monitor the cameras in real time. The tapes were probably reviewed after the fact, that is, after the archivists noticed that some of the docs were missing.

One of the problems is that people who gain admission to archives (of any kind) are usually already trusted, and therefore are not monitored very closely. I don't know if you remember the story of the American researcher, a prominent scholar, IIRC, who stole all sorts of manuscripts from the Vatican library a few years ago? The librarian had to resign over it. But basically, it was a case of simply not being vigilant enough in advance, because the librarians just assumed that nobody in such a position would do such things.

They were all immediately returned, he said, except for a few that he had “apparently accidentally discarded.”

That was after he found they had accidentally fluttered into his socks. Hate it when that happens!

I forgot to add, with the Berger thing, the 9/11 report becomes trash. In effect, this absolves both Clinton(bad) and Bush(good) from any wrongdoing.

Gotta admit, as bad as the Clintons are, they know how to play this game as well, if not better than anyone. It really is enjoyable to watch in a perverted sort of way.

Now I need to take a shower.

MY God, Tenet worked for LEAHY?!!!!!

I tried to understand Dubya not replacing him, I really did.

Now, I can't believe he kept him in place. And I would suggest recent history has borne out the fallacy of that type of thinking.

Bush and company know exactly what documents were taken because they have seen them before Berger did.

Berger is in a pickle and he will not get out of this one. The Justice Dept. will reveal what documents were taken and this will embarrass Clinton/Berger/Kerry/Dems/9/11 commission.

This incident will put a permanent stain on the Clinton legacy.

It will be interesting if anybody starts to challenge Clinton and company. They have not so far because of all of the FBI files they have.
