Just heard this a bit ago
We The People have spoken again
"Dang it all. I really liked her and the Dixie Chicks. They will never get a dollar from me or my family"
Yes I was a big fan of Rondstandt since she was with the Stone Poneys.
"What's the Ingraham book called? "Shut up and Sing"?
That's kind of my thoughts on it, but then again things don't always go my way.
Is your sister cute ?...........:o)
Stay safe !
Allow me to be the first to describe what is happening here in this matter as the latest example of the Wellstones Funeral Effect.
I think that the over the top hatred for Bush is going to drive up a turnout for Bush that will leave these clueless entertainers (Ronstadt, Elton John, Madonna, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, etc.) scratching their heads and then questioning the intelligence of the American electorate.
Michael Moore is certainly provocative and actually raises my blood pressure, but Ozzy Osbourne is so far gone you can hardly get angry. Whoopi Goldberg is trash, and Elton John is a moron for not knowing the definition of censorship.
Sean Penn epitomizes what I do not understand about acting. I assume it is difficult, difficult enough that I have not given it a try. I admire the skill that Penn has exhibited on the screen in Carlitos Way, The Falcon and the Snowman, and Mystic River. Yet when Sean Penn the citizen opens his mouth I am only impressed by his stupidity. What is the nature of the intelligence and skill that facilitates acting when it seems to be found so often in people who exhibit such superficiality and ignorance in matters of politics, economics and defense?
Its puzzling but its definitely a phenomenon. And these celebrities spewing irrational hatred (Bushophobia?) are just priming a massive backlash so bring it on.
Another celeb Linda Ronstadt? Fading celeb is more like it. just couldn't keep her mouth shut regarding politics could she. That's exactly what the complaint was about whoopi and the chicks. People pay to hear them sing or perform NOT to hear their politics. Guess Linda thought she neeeded to join in the fray for more attention. Well, she got it didn't she? Heh, heh.
We DEMAND -- a shrubbery!
I mean, demmy women seem hell bent on reinventing the word "ugly":
new democrat theme song:
...Beware of UGLY faces that you fi-ind,
an ugly face can hide, an evil MI-IND....
Oh, you let the wrong word slip
while ****ing them portly hips,
odds are you won't live to see to-mo-row.....
they've given you a number, an taken a-WAY yore name....
LOL....Ok.........I'll risk getting my butt kicked .........Nice Rack !
Stay safe !
"And the fishing boats, with their "sails afloat---"
I don't need to put my money to a cause that I disagree with. Simple as that. If you agree with her or Micheal Moore, Support them and buy their products. I won't.
Welcome to FreeRepublic.
Please tread lightly on such fledgling wings.
lookie at what we found.
By boycotting an artist for his/her liberal political views, I gain the satisfaction of knowing that my money didn't further the spread of liberalism. A lot of these folks are rabid political contributors.
Actually it was a pretty good business decision. When Bush supporters around the country read about the Linda Ronstadt incident, many of them, in order to show their gratitude to Aladdin's management, will make it a point to spend some time (and some money) at the Aladdin the next time they're vacationing in Las Vegas.
I remember about 5 yrs. ago, tubby was on the tonight show where Robin Quivers from the Howard Stern show was also on. Linda said to Robin, "how can you stand being on his show?" you should have heard them the next week on howard. boy did they ever get even with fatso.
