I was listening to the BBC Africa call-in show last fall, iirc. One of the tribes/countries sex practices is to use dry
herbs for lubrication.
VOA/Africa has a medical-call in show too.
This scourge is going to run it's course, regardless of how much money is thrown at it.
Keep your pants zipped and your powder dry.
FMCDH(BITS)
It's working, give me a monkey.
are you just making stuff up?
yes we wouldnt want any compassion. if i think about all those dying black people, then i wont enjoy my big mac.
Those were two questions.
Bush has promised Africa 15 billion dollars of American workers' money to help combat Aids. Would rather he spent a thousand bucks on fliers that said, "Please attempt to exhibit some self-control"
That is precious...thanks for the laugh!
Not to be picky, but I believe that includes the Caribbean, too.
And you joined just to say that? I'm impressed!
Read again the part about those who can't control their urges. Obviously, if I meant ALL homosexuals, I would have said ALL homosexuals. But I didn't.
Call me nuts if you wish (won't be the first time), imply I'm a Nazi if you wish (liberals do that all the time), but when there is a disease epidemic, the BEST thing to do for the public at large is to isolate the infected so they don't spread their disease. We don't treat the diseased like it's a civil right.
Since the disease has a long incubation period, those who persist in risky behavior ought to be isolated from the rest of the society. Straights too. I wouldn't mind tossing Bill Clinton in with them even though they are probably not his type.
Welcome to FR!
Thoughts?
My most common experience is to read comments like Thabo Mbeki(sp?), the President or PM of South Africa, saying that folks are not dying from HIV/AIDS, or that Africans are really dying from other circumstances that TASMANIANRED made on this thread. The main argument about overestimation in the latter case was that laboratory diagnosis of HIV by blood, or other specimen, test wasn't confirmed, and other primary diagnoses were not ruled out, e.g. malaria, other parasites, TB and malnutrition.
That's a side effect.
Thanks for the ping!
