Bush Slam Dems for Whoopi Filth-fest (Free Republic Mentioned)
NewsMax .com ^ | 7/14/04 | Carl Limbacher

Edited on 07/20/2004 2:41:16 AM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

The White House has no intention of letting Sen. John Kerry off the hook for praising Whoopi Goldberg and other Hollywood celebs as the "heart and soul of America" after she compared President Bush to her private parts at a Radio City Music Hall fundraiser last week.

"The other day my opponent said, when he was with some entertainers from Hollywood, that they were the heart and soul of America," Bush told two rallies in Michigan, reports the New York Post. "I believe the heart and soul of America is found in places right here," the president added. Crowds at both stops erupted in cheers after Bush blasted the Kerry-Edwards-Goldberg filthfest.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said yesterday that conservative "activists" should organize protests over the Goldberg episode at Kerry-Edwards rallies.

"We ought to have volunteer activists who start showing up around Kerry-Edwards events with signs demanding that they release the videotape of the entertainment last Thursday night," he told radio host Sean Hannity.

Gingrich added, "Maybe the activists who are listening to this could help with this a bit" - a message apparently directed at members of FreeRepublic.com - the internet group that proved so effective during the 2000 election and Florida recount.

Gingrich said the tape was important because it would show how Democats on hand "reacted to demeaning the President of the United States.

"I suspect what you'll find is that people like Kerry and Edwards were smiling and applauding and being positive about this kind of vicious character assassination."

The architect of the Republican revolution suggested that the Bush campaign paint the event as "a tale of two Hollywoods."

"We'll take Arnold Schwarzenegger, they get Michael Moore. We'll take Mel Gibson, they get Whoopi Goldberg. And let's see how the country [reacts] faced with that kind of a choice."

OPEN LETTER TO THE KERRY CAMPAIGN

July 12, 2004

Mary Beth Cahill
Campaign Manager
John Kerry for President
P.O. Box 34640
Washington, DC 20043

Dear Ms. Cahill:

On Thursday your campaign hosted a fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall at which Sen. Kerry said, "Every performer tonight in their own way either verbally through their music through their lyrics have conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."

I called on your campaign to release the performance that Sen. Kerry said represented the "heart and soul" of America so that all Americans could see for themselves what John Kerry thinks represents the "heart and soul" of our country.

Do most Americans in their hearts, think that calling the President a "thug" and a "killer" represents the "heart and soul" of our nation? We don't think so, but we think voters should decide for themselves by watching the celebrities John Kerry said captured the "heart and soul" of America.

Your Senior Advisor Tad Devine said that you believed that releasing musical performances "might violate copyrights and licensing agreements for the entertainers who performed and allow the Bush campaign to use the tape in commercials against Kerry and Edwards"

I have been assured that "fair use" rules of copyright would allow you to release the tapes of these musical performances to the news media under 2 U.S.C. 107. To allay the other concern you relayed to the news media, Bush-Cheney '04 pledges to refrain from using audio, video or transcripts of the event for any television, cable, satellite or radio advertising. We look forward to seeing this spirited display.

Sincerely,

Ken Mehlman
Campaign Manager

My favorite movie starring Martin Sheen was "The Incident" from 1966, in which he and Tony Musante played hoodlums terrorizing NY Subway passengers; it ends with Sheen being kicked in the cojones by Beau Bridges and lying on the floor of a subway train groaning.

We'll take:

Toby Keith
Kid Rock

They can have:

Dixie Chicks
John Mellencamp

I find it interesting that athletes have not entered into the realm of Celebrity politics. Sitting here right now, I can't think of any athlete that has used their fame as an opportunity to make political speech, let alone their actual performance as was done the other night.

I think the right and left universally are turned off with the performance itself takes positions directly against candidates or office holders.

The D.C. Chapter will be making an announcement tonight about action calling for the Kerry campaign to release the tape. We started planning this yesterday, so Mr. Newt had nothing to do with this action of ours. But it's great to see Republicans finally recognize the effectiveness of conservative street activism.

To the Democrats, the heart and soul of America is Whoopi Goldberg, swinging a wine bottle, with slurred speech, spewing forth hatred, filth, and obscenity. This is what the Democrat Party has become.

My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were all Democrats. If they were alive today, they would repudiate the Democrat Party and everything it has become--immediately and in no uncertain terms--and, like all decent people everywhere, they would recoil in disgust.

The degeneracy and decadence of the Left are not lost on the people of the world.

America's enemies will support the Democrats in every possible way, knowing that the Democrat Party foreshadows the decay and destruction of the United States and that Democrat successes will lead to this.

Anti-American terrorists and America's other enemies are delighted at the decadence and degeneracy that the Democrat Party represents and with the successes of Democrat Politicians; they are thrilled by Democrat support from "celebrities", Hollywood, academia, much of the American "intelligentsia", and especially the so-called "journalists" of the "mainstream newsmedia"; because they know that, if the American people allow it to florish and do not reject it, all this foreshadows the decay, destruction, and fall of the United States.

Furthermore, though many of the people of the world wallow in such degeneracy, people generally, throughout the world, want no part of it, and they do not want such filth intruding into their homes, their countries, their cultures, and afflicting their children.

If Americans allow the Left and the Democrats to drag them down into the sewer--which is exactly what the Democrat Filthfest represents--America will sink into decadence and will fall--and the world will rejoice because the people of the world will recoil in disgust.

Bin Laden is his "brother" and the President of the United States is a "thug." That's the heart and soul of the Democratic Party.

Don't be caught off guard with the first few words that you've received an error message ... stay on the phone for the proper menu option and you'll speak with a company representative. They've been very sympathetic and are recording EVERY complaint. I believe this is Day 2 that Her Raunchiness cannot be found on the Slim-Fast website (which has a comment line) ... a little more pressure and I think Miss Vulgarity's $$$ from this company will be slimming down, fast.

I truly find this to be amazing. These people must not have a single clue what the barbarians plan for us and all decent human beings in this world. ( see my FR page for Putin's view)

The one thing missing from this story is that it all happened before.

Doesn't anyone remember the Tribute to President Clinton that was carried live on C-SPAN on May 24, 2000? At that show, Robin Williams gave a vulgarity-laced comedy routine, and then when seeing a child in the front row, said "Well, I guess we learned a few new words tonight."

abc news

Hard to say, apparently. In this version it was a Danish reporter.

"The Kommersant business daily reports Mr Putin was asked (by) a Danish reporter why Russia was using mine warfare in the separatist North Caucasus republic and exterminating Chechen civilians."

CBS

CBS reports it was a French reporter.

" A French reporter who questioned the Kremlin's war in Chechnya provoked an angry outburst from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who challenged him to convert to Islam and come to Moscow for circumcision."

this link says it was a French reporter from Le Monde.

What I thought was really funny was that apparently the translator left out some of it and it was only later, in Russia and because of those who spoke Russian and understood Putin, that it came out what he had said.
