Candidate for House on way to prison Bailey sentenced in support case By MIKE RICE The Kansas City Star

Bailey

A Northland candidate in the 6th Congressional District is headed to state prison over failure to pay child support.

Jeff Bailey, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in the Aug. 3 primary, was sentenced to four years in prison Monday after a Saline County judge imposed a sentence that had been suspended.

Bailey, of Gladstone, was being held Tuesday in the Saline County Jail in Marshall, Mo., and could not be reached for comment. He is awaiting a transfer to a state prison, said Prosecutor Donald Stouffer.

Bailey's name cannot be removed from the Aug. 3 ballot, said Terri Durdaller, a spokeswoman for the Missouri secretary of state's office. Any court-ordered removal from a ballot has to be at least six weeks prior to an election, she said.

Bailey pleaded guilty in 2001 to a charge of failure to pay child support. In previous interviews, he said he was charged after he missed some payments while he had been overseas, managing banks in Nigeria. A relative, he said, had given his son money while he was gone.

Bailey received a suspended sentence but stopped making the payments last year after his son joined the National Guard. Bailey contended that, under state law, child support payments can end once a child enters active military duty.

Stouffer said Bailey's son was not emancipated because he was still enrolled in college.

Stouffer said the court sought to impose the sentence because Bailey had failed to follow his probation officer's directives, such as proof of employment, community service information and a daily activity schedule.

“When we asked him about his employment, all he told us was that he was running for Congress,” Stouffer said.

Bailey's attorney, Robert Fleming, could not be reached Tuesday for comment.

Bailey, 47, is unemployed but has said he worked as an international banker in Nigeria. When questioned further about that job last week, he provided a copy of an ID badge for the bank he managed and a three-month visa for Nigeria that was issued in 1998.

Bailey is considered a long-shot to win the Democratic primary against Northland political veteran Charles Broomfield. The winner will face incumbent Rep. Sam Graves, a Republican, and Erik Buck, a Libertarian, in the November general election.

Stouffer said Bailey had failed to pay $1,600 in back child support in 2000, which led to the original charge. The court normally deals with failure to pay child support cases in civil court and facilitates payment arrangements, he said.

“We do everything we can to avoid criminal prosecution,” Stouffer said. “But he refused to acknowledge his obligation to the probation officer.”

Broomfield was sorry to hear about Bailey's incarceration.

“I have met Jeff a couple of times, and he seemed like a nice guy,” Broomfield said Tuesday. “I am sorry that he is having these problems, and my prayers go out to him and his family.”

Can I guess what his first order of business as a Congressman might be?

1st guess - Federal Child Support Insurance!
2nd Guess - Tax dollars for deadbeat dads.

My suggestion> - Lorena Bobbit the jerk and send him back to his off-shore bank job with his voice 5 octaves higher. The USA doesn't need this moron as a legislator.

Deadbeat dads do not make good candidates.

The following authors/leaders (and many more who wrote/spoke the same) would be proud of that statement in support of the policies of Clinton, Shalala, Wellstone and company.

"Then it will be plain that the first condition for the
liberation of the wife is to bring the whole female sex
back into public industry, and that this in turn demands
the abolition of the monogamous family as the economic
unit of society" (Frederick Engels, Origins of the
Family, Private Property, and the State).

Some of Lenin's words on women

Even though stupid Bailey was a Democrat, his son was reportedly in college, in the National Guard and an adult at the time. And he was either having a relative support the man, or he was underemployed, or both.

And what kind of women are divorcing man after man while engaging in serial polygamy? Are all men who can't/don't pay their alimony/support "deadbeats?" If so, and if personal support while living with those children in a whole family is as much of a requirement, then maybe most "male" politicians should be replaced by women, who are born bastions of morality (sarcasm, irony). Effeminate male feminists like Henry Beecher would think so if they alive today. They grabbed that adulterous victim trim wherever they could get it.

If we should punish support/alimony debtors by physically mutilating them, then we should publicly burn the adulterers who initiate the damage to the kids.

Here's a good synopsis for beginners on the problem.

Air-Brushing Dads Out Of The Picture
by Carey Roberts
June 9, 2004

When Vladimir Lenin seized power in 1917, he knew full well that the traditional family would fiercely resist his grand scheme to consolidate state power. So he set out to ruthlessly destroy the family.

Lenin banned church weddings. Women were sent out to work in the factories and the fields. Communal dining halls, sewing centers, and day care facilities were established. Abortion was legalized. Divorce became a simple administrative routine.

So it's an interesting coincidence that over the last 30 years, an unholy alliance of feminists and liberals has also targeted the traditional family for radical transformation. In particular, they put fatherhood into their ideological cross-hairs. Father Knows Best became an anathema.

Feminists began their campaign by turning the meaning of Patriarch on its head. They changed it from a term of veneration into a word of contempt. Fathers were smeared as "patriarchal oppressors" who imposed "male hegemony" on their wives and children.

Once men had been placed on the defensive, the fem-liberals preceded to float one myth after another. Sadly, these four claims are now accepted by many Americans without question or doubt:

Men routinely batter their wives. They break up marriages. Fathers often abuse their children. Dads don't pay their child support.

But let's stop to examine the facts:

Women are just as likely to initiate domestic violence as men. Two-thirds of divorces are initiated by wives. According to a 2002 government report, "The vast majority of children were maltreated by one parent, usually the mother." Fathers who have a job and are given access to their children almost always make their child support obligations. Once the myths were firmly entrenched, feminists began to push through laws that were billed as protecting and empowering women. But they really had the effect of marginalizing dads. These programs included the Violence Against Women Act, no-fault divorce laws, and a draconian child support bureaucracy. And welfare benefits to low-income women were cut off if the father still lived at home.

And the calumnies didn't stop. Fathers were stereotyped as insensitive buffoons and as a bad influence on boys who needed to get in touch with their inner child. In short, dads were non-essential.

These efforts to undermine fatherhood were, by any objective measure, extraordinarily successful. In 1960, only 8% of children did not live with their dads. By 1996, this figure had tripled to 25%, making the United States the world leader in fatherless families.

Among Blacks, the problem reached crisis proportions. In 1950, only 17% of births were to unmarried women. By 1990, out-of-wedlock births reached 65%. So by 1996, 58% of Black kids lived with their mother only.

But the story doesn't stop there.

Family disruption begets social pathology - we know that from what happened in Soviet Russia. The fem-liberals didn't want to be blamed for the social chaos that was certain to ensue.

Somehow they had to cover their tracks.

So they concocted the Mother of All Myths -- the Abandoning Dad, the countless hordes of men who would desert family and home to indulge in a midlife fling. (Why adulterous women are routinely given a free pass remains a mystery to me.) This vastly exaggerated urban legend, endlessly recycled in women's magazines and daytime TV programs, would serve to divert public attention away from the disastrous social legislation that spawned father absence.

The rise of fatherlessness in our country did not occur because dads decided one day to get up and leave. It happened because they were pushed out.

But the myths became so deeply engrained, and fathers so completely vilified, that no one is willing to listen to their side of the story any more. What we have witnessed is a case study in mass re-education and social transformation. Tearing down age-old social institutions without offering a viable alternative - that's the legacy of socialism over all these years.

Senior Citizens live in group homes with communial dining because they are parked in nursing homes.

Senior Citizens go to cafeterias and eat in communal settings.

Seniors are easily panice by threatening social security. (BTW: kerry will give away social security for homosexuals sex partners)

Now we know where all those e-mails from Nigeria requesting money and promising untold riches if you just send a couple thousand dollars in to settle frozen accounts have been coming from!
