Go buy $250 dollars in groceries and they tell you that you have to wait thirty days before picking them up...

Hi there stranger! How's the cat?

Texas pawnbrokers successfully *fought* this kind of bill a few years ago.

They should call it the "Let's put resellers out of business bill".

What kind of strategy did they use? I fear that they will try and extend this into the whole marketplace.

It won't work. My guess is that this will be defeated or repealed. It isn't workable and would turn most into criminals.

Why do they keep electing these idiots?

If it were any other state, I would agree with you about it not being passed. But seeing as how it's from the land of fruit and nut's, well...

As to the questions, if I could answer that one, we would have the answer to all of our problems with the other party, lol.

In this case, this bill is supported by California pawnbrokers. It is likely the pawnbrokers already have regulations like this in place and want to burden everyone else with them in order to eliminate competition. For once Ebay may be doing something good by fighting this bill.

As an Ebay addict, I can tell you that there's no way the state of CA will be able to limit sales on Ebay over $250.

Checking Ebay collectibles is the easiest and fastest way to check what's going on in the economy.... On the east coast, unemployment is down, THANK GOD, but prices for sterling silver flatware remain low on Ebay. Check it out for yourself.

Real estate may be going through the roof on the east coast, but not sterling. This is a true indication that the economy has not healed since 9/11.

The cat went berserk the other day after I took him on a nature walk on a leash and proceeded to sink his fangs into my arm a few times then attacked both my legs. I think it must have been the call of the wild, no more nature walks and if he pulls that again he's gonna become an eagle snack :)

"It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting this article to curtail the dissemination of stolen property, to facilitate the rapid recovery of stolen property, and to aid the State Board of Equalization to detect possible sales tax evasion by a uniform, statewide, state-administered system of licensing and regulation," states the opening paragraph of the bill presented by Democratic Senator John L. Burton.

I don't think , Democratic Senator John L. Burton, gives a crap about curtailing or recovering stolen property.
