I'm not a PC person but I think this immigration "close the borders" crap is too stupid.
They are already here man!
If your logic made any sense (and it doesn't) then the gov would just open up all military and other security institutions to anyone. Sorry, that isn't happening. Sure, its not the only thing to do, but it does matter when combined with other strategies and tactics.
Its a feel good action that adds nothing to one's security anymore than a night lite makes a child safer. In fact, the borders folks remind me of my children who want the security of a night light to protect them from the boogy man.
>> Did it occur to you why castles are no longer contructed ?
The widespread use of cannons?
Some of 'em are also in Mexico.
In parts of Mexico, religion divides schools
June 19, 2004
It was started five years ago by the 500-strong Muslim community in San Cristobal de las Casas, who hold it out as an example of tolerance and diversity, even as they struggle for official certification.
In the converted house where the Islamic school holds classes, 40 children sit or kneel on the floor and intone melodic verses from the Quran in Arabic. Side-by-side sit Tzotzil Indians, mixed-race and fair-haired Spanish kids. They also learn some English.
"Our school is multiethnic, and multilingual," says Aureliano Perez, the head of Chiapas' Islamic community. "That bothers some people here."
The Smart family and the Van Dam family had locked doors.
As I mentioned before, they CAN go back. Read up on Operation Wetback. http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/view/OO/pqo1.html
Another logical fallacy. You don't see a difference between guarding a military base and the US borders ?
I guess the government just needs a night light.
Don't change the subject. The subject was whether or not security measures like walls and doors work or not. The military seems to think they do, or why pay for them?
Look, I'm a fan of Michael Medved. But it's frustrating how -- in my opinion -- he dances away from illegal immigration issues. Today, for example, he was asking callers who disagree with Iraq policy to suggest alternative ways to fighting terrorism. One guy called in and said, "close the borders" or "police the borders," or something like that. Medved became very agitated and impatient, and essentially said this would be an irrelevant response to the terror threat.

That's a great point. I've long believed that the real problem is in Mexico City and Mexico's corrupt government's "Mexican diaspora" or "nation without borders." They are forcing their people here. They demand loyalty to Mexico. They meddle in our internal affairs at all levels to get that loyalty. They expect us to foot the bill. Their people are coming here with their stomachs but they are leaving their hearts in Mexico.
There is a regime change needed in Mexico City.
Now, what about the other half of ILLEGALs?
I'm not changing aubject. Please explain why locks and walls did not protect Smart and Van Dam.
Please explain why doors and locks protected me when a prowler tried to get into my house last year. That actually occurred to me, so I have a hard time believing you.
Americans should be willing to defend our country, and shouldn't be here just for the paycheck. We don't need them that badly. So what if food costs more. We can then end welfare and put our own citizens to work. Without a state/federal meal ticket, there will be real incentive to hustle. And don't tell me it won't work. This white boy harvested grapes at my father-in-laws ranch at age 44. Two months in the hot sun and my programming job was looking real good, office politics and all.
If there was a vault of gold under the WTC, I'm sure it was not destroyed. The gold certainly was not destroyed, even if the vault was turned to imploded rubble.
Why are you so against protecting our borders?
I don't really consider Medved to have won, since he didn't win based on his arguments. He "won" because he had the power to cut the caller off. Plenty of us folks out here in flyover country know the score. We can and should argue what the best disposition of our resources is, but let's not forget who our enemies are and what they are willing to do to win.
I'll correct a part of that...they are bringing them in "legally" and it's just as bad or worse.
No citizenship to children born of illegal parents. No right of residency either. The MSM will call it cruel. I call it fair. Good article on anchor babies here... http://www.americanpatrol.com/ANCHORBABIES/AnchorBabiesAllanWall.html
