I believe it. Kids respond with more respect to men, it's just the way things are. And middle-school age kids are really big these days ... I think a large, male detective would have better luck in a fight with them!
There was a food fight at one of the Pipeline construction camps. It was a real fight. They had to bulldoze the mess hall afterwards, but nobody got arrested. Started when they ran out of thirds on steak and lobster.
