Take the high road, and you never have to fear a dog. Amen. Dogs aren't used to people (or anything) coming back at them or ignoring them altogether. It puts their little minds off.

This police officer should be fired. This man is trained on the use of a weapon and shot the dog 3 times and then they had to put the dog to sleep? If he cant shoot any better than that he shouldnt be on the force.

Yeah, you might get licked to death, or even worse, beaten to death by a wagging tail...

According to department policy, the officer is given pepper spray to use first. If just walked in their backyard, then shot the dog without pepper spray then the officer is in question. You took the words out of my mouth (so to speak).
My family owns a service business that employees of a fleet of home delivery/repairmen who go from home to home all day.
They're given pepper spray to use against dogs, not Glocks.

By the way, here's a picture of the Bixby Police Chief:
He looks like a kid himself to me.
I suspect we have a young and poorly trained group of cops here.

Oooh, he killed the dog. It barked at him, you see. A Golden Retriever named "Fluppy". Yeah, it was real dangerous.

I have a neighbor wo has a dog that barks.... and barks..... and barks..... and.... Well, you get the idea. I've spoken to the neighbor several times about the noise but he seems to be unable to even notice what's happening.
I wonder if that officer would mind dropping by my house some evening. I make a pretty mean roast beef dinner.

News on 6 reporter Patrina Adger has received lots of calls from people who have asked, 'Why didn't the officer just shoot the dog in the paw?" I am wondering why he didn't just levitate it with his mind control rays.

I am wondering why he didn't just levitate it with his mind control rays. Why didn't he just try making friends with the dog...it's not like the dog was a vicious pit bull or Rottweiller...it was a frigging golden retriever.
What a wuss!

One of those threads.......bye bye .....:o)I thought those would be your words. LOL
I can't believe some of the posters to these. I dearly love my dogs as you do yours, but we were not there, yada yada - it goes on. Let the LEO community do an investigation. If it was a good shooting - then okay. If not, they have means of taking care of that.
