Madonna Wimps Out (Cancels Israel Tour, Due To Fear of Islamofascist Reprisals)
New York Post ^ | 6/8/04 | Julia Gorin

ISN'T Madonna supposed to be controversial and independent? Then why did she cancel all three Israel stops on her "Reinvention Tour"? At least now we know how she's reinventing herself: as someone who plays it safe.

The whole tour, in fact, plays it safe.

It takes nothing to spout antiwar messages and to bash Republicans, President Bush and the U.S. military. Nor is there any longer anything provocative about getting naked and simulating heterosexual and lesbian sex.

Old news. I read this 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think she keeps announcing her cancellations to stir up interest in her remaining shows.

Marwan Barghouti:

Yes, that jahilliyah b**** has finally bowed to the omniscient, omnipotent power of the almighty Allah! Inshallah, we will soon be rid of this harlot! You may think that our primary targets are the vicious dogs of the IDF and Mossad, while in reality, they are just targets of opportunity. In fact, crushing the evil ones who populate the big-budget, Hollywood entertainment industry is the true work of malaikah. If I weren't cooped up in an Israeli prison cell (Damn you unbelievers! Have you no soap that is not abrasive to this mujahid's soft, delicate features?), I would pie that slut with a lemon marang that she would not soon forget; blessed be Allah, and his messenger, Muhammad.

BARGHOUTI...OUT!

I guess she's real brave when she dons military apparel and bashes our President and military. Too bad she can't back it up with the bravery and courage that our military shows everyday in this war on terror. Stay safe in your little castle in England, Madonna.

But of course!

I couldn't resist commenting on this story, which seems to have appeared in only about 3 million different media outlets since Sept. 11th 2001.

Believe me, these lunatics would need to have driven out the last kosher butcher from Borough Park before they even draw up plans for attacking the "Material Girl."

Give me a break, indeed!

She says that she's brave to go and offend other people's sensibilities. Well, here was her chance to do that in the worst way.

Saeb Ereakat:

Yes my friend, "laugh out loud." We do not have the opportunity, AS PALESTINIANS, to lol, as you so expertly call it. AS PALESTINIANS, we are forced to live under the boot heel of ISREALI OCCUPATION, where we are not allowed to so much as chuckle, lest the Isreali war machine crush us like bugs. Bugs who, AS PALESTIANS, are forced to live under the brutal tyranny of ISREALI OCCUPATION. Now, AS A PALESTINIAN living under ISREALI OCCUPATION...

I guess she's real brave when she dons military apparel and bashes our President and military.

Let's pray this is a learning experience for her - some type of lesson on the value of free speech, the second amendment, and not fearing for one's life when one has unpopular opinions. Or, at least let us be thankful for all those songs she won't be singing because of the cancellations. To be sure, it's a small silver lining, but I take 'em when I see 'em.

let's see. . . the islamofacists want to stop Madonna from performing in the Middle east. They have threatened violence against her if she does. They also desire to be able to carry out that threat in Asia, Europe, and here in America. They want her to live in fear that if she does anything contrary to the wish of Allah, that she will be targeted. She may not realize it, but until she bows to Mecca. they think she is contrary to the will of Allah. Right now the Middle East is where she has to most fear what they can do. If we were not fighting the terrorist there, there would be greater concern for her in the rest of the world. That is why she is able to bash Pres Bush in other parts of the world. The women under the taliban were what the islamofacists want Madonna and all other females to be. I bet if Madonna had lived in Afgahnistan she would not be so brave. But brave is the one who see the threat for what it is, and does something about it in the face of intense pressure. Let's see, that would be G W Bush

"(Cancels Israel Tour, Due To Fear of Islamofascist Reprisals)"

I don't get it, I thought she was best buddies with anyone or any element that hated the US and targeted Americans! You mean she's afraid of the terrorists? Why? Doesn't she support their hatred for the US? I'm confused.

Ah, shucks!

And I was so looking forward to her latest rendering of a Don Maclean classic into a series of indecipherable cat screeches and homiphilic, tone deaf melodies.

Where will I go for my regular dosage of crap-tacular music?

I guess I'll just have to resort to watching yet another round of "WB Superstar."

Oh no!

You know what this means, don't you?

You've summoned the ghost of Stanley Kubrick.

Now he'll stalk the earth interminably, in seach of producers willing to make films with an incomprehensible plot, glacial pacing and a cast made up entirely of oddballs.

This is worse than that time "Candy man" swung by the projects in Cabrini Green.

Professor Harry Higgins:

Oh, what a ghastly beast of a human is she! Eliza Doolittle was practically a grammarian compared to this horse-faced trollop!

Ooh, I wonder if I was a bit harsh there? I do have a rather refreshing tendency to be honest, don't I?

I can't wait for the "Express Yourself" tour to make its way to Jeddah for next summer's camel racing quarterfinals.

I'm just hoping that the locals show Madonna a good time.

What, with those awkward photos from her last non-children's book, I'm sure that the Arabian authorities might have a bit of a problem with certain aspects of the "Material Girl's" performance.
