As a result, he proposes that the Atlanteans and the Sea People were in fact one and the same. The Hebrew tribes called them Philistines.
Very interesting! When I saw the title I thought to myself: "Oh, here comes another silly 'alternative' archaeologist making things up." But this sounds quite reasonable in terms of the Atlantis story!
Interesting. It never occurred to me that Atlantis might NOT have been an island. This story may have legs. Hoping for some updates.
Thanks for the post.
cool ping
500 BCE? Plato wrote of a city that had existed 10000 years ago...someone's got to get the dating correct someday
interesting...
Looks like a diagram for 4th Grade sex education :-)
See childen, here are the ovaries and here is the Eustachian tube and here are the Islets of Langerhans, and when the male brings his vessel up the Alimentary Canal.........
Fascinating, wow... it would be amazing if they were actually able to identify Atlantis one day and find items buried there.
yup looks like Atlantis or a TEM of a tubule *LOL*
The continent of Atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
So great an area of land, that from her western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed
to the South and the North Americas with ease,
in their ships with painted sails.
To the East Africa was a neighbour, across a short strait of sea miles.
The great Egyptian age is but a remnant of The Atlantian culture.
The antediluvian kings colonised the world
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis.
Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships to all corners of the Earth.
On board were the Twelve:
The poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist,
The magician and the other so-called Gods of our legends.
Though Gods they were -
And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind
Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new
Hail Atlantis!
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be.
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be.
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah,
I wanna see you some day
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah,
My antediluvian baby,
My antediluvian baby, I love you, girl,
Girl, I wanna see you some day.
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah
I wanna see you some day, oh
My antediluvian baby.
My antediluvian baby, I wanna see you
My antediluvian baby, gotta tell me where she gone
I wanna see you some day
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, oh yeah
Oh glub glub, down down, yeah
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah yeah yeah
Did they build Atlantis of mud? There are no visible rings.
Pretty darn lucky it's in a Spanish national park, lots of stuff should be undisturbed. Pretty cool.
The rings were just canals. I would presumed they'd be largely silted up after however many thousand years.
very good point. Since Plato wrote about 400 BC, and was a crtical thinker, and since the Greeks had had colonies around the Mediterranean for many centuries by that time, I don't think 500 - 800 BC is acceptable as a date for Atlantis--that would make it co-terminus with the Greek colonist culture, and Plate clearly dates it much before that.
However, if they date it pre-1000 BC, then it might be acceptable.
Second point. I look and look at the pictures, and I cannot picture the overlay of rings. Maybe my imagination just isn't that good.
What? They haven't found the Atlantean lasers and anti-gravity machines yet?
oops, meant to quote your 'up the alimentary canal' comment there.
