Itchy Skin in HIV:
The most common causes of itch in HIV infection can be divided into the following categories: 1) scabies and insect bite reactions, 2) inflammation of the hair follicles including either eosinophilic or bacterial (staph) folliculitis, 3) drug reactions, 4) dry skin, 5) a group of scaly skin disorders including seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis, and 6) photosensitivity dermatitis.

Curious as to why your post #1 got pulled.

Do you have any links to purchase online?

My family has been sitting on pins all weekend to see if my aunt is going to make it through an infection. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I love my aunt, but moms are different. One never gets over needing her.

In a case-control study, Dr. Coffin and coinvestigators identified 447 cases of community-acquired MRSA

Dr. Coffin?

regardless of any conspiratorial implications or anti-gay agendas, it is fact and shouldn't have been pulled of requested to be pulled. It is a matter of debate and record.

I didn't have an anti-gay agenda. I mistakenly thought the spread outside of hospitals was limited to the gay community, and that the Post was thus leaving information out of its story for reasons of political correctness. Others showed me that the spread is not limited to the gay community, and that made my belief about the Post's coverage completely incorrect. Given that, I asked that my speculation in post #1 be yanked because it was simply wrong.

Well, I'm definitely not gay and I certainly don't have HIV either! Then again, I didn't have one of the super-resistent strains (to just about everything) but merely one with milder resistance to one or two antibiotics.

Heck, I'm not even one of those metrosexuals. I don't even own a hairbrush*, much less a hair dryer!

* And no, I am not balding at all!

No. We used to get ours from a now-defunct MLM, which spun off the products to former associates, who put them on-line under a different name, then changed it again. Just checking, the first name now fails to resolve. The second is now some site in France. Argh.

Most health food stores have lots of tea tree products these days, and if you web search using the AS or ISO standard numbers, you'll find many resellers.
