Sounds like HST got into the ether!

I didn't bother mentioning the bats. He'll see them soon enough.

Hey, wasn't it ESPN that was so troubled by Rush Limbaugh's mild comments about black quarterbacks last season? Where are they when a liberal spews such an obscenity??

who the hell is Hunter S. Thompson

He's a journalist from another era. Pretty interesting writing, too. Best thing he has done lately was try to shoot out his neighbor's yard lights with a high powered rifle.

Rush's comments were sports-related, Thompson's weren't. ....And anyway, Hunter is frankly too irrelevant to mention.

Now I am really ashamed to carry an American passport.

Perhaps we could issue an anti-American passport. In it the government could guarentee that the holder hated everything about this country and in no way supported the current administration. It could include endorsements from Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Michael Moore and Andy Rooney. The passport would be good for trips to Europe -- particularly France and the Cannes Film Festival, The Middle East, China, Venesuela, Brazil and Cuba. Special discounts for trips the North Korea, Burma, Iran and Syria could be included if the trip were to be one way. Military deserters could use it to enter Canada.

His character stopped being an interesting writer with anything to offer years ago

I think Mark Steyn might say it this way: "Nancy boy!"

I saw duplications of some of the photos over on the thread about the gay pride parade.

These addlepated liberals take hyperbole to new heights.

Hunter Thompson, a native of my home town , has a drug and alcohol soaked brain.

The use of the word Nazi in conjunction with any event that doesn't include at least 1M casualties discredits the speaker.

I don't buy that for a minute, Coach.

Why would ESPN comment on a story that isn't sports-related? Use your head, kid.

Thompson was a very good writer

He may have been a good writer, but he sounds like a mental midget to me.

Btw, there were many Germans in the 1930's-1940's who would have argued that Hitler was a good writer. It's all a matter of perspective. Frankly, based on Thompson's inflammatory statement (and the drug anecdotes posted in this thread), I find myself compelled to NOT read anything this man has ever written.

And you think that's a good thing? It's morons like him that give "ammo" to the gun grabbers.

I was walking thru a patch of woods on my property over the weekend, scouring a site for unspoken deeds, when I came upon an old Nash Automobile I had never known was there. It was all surrounded by trees and saplings which had been anually expanding at a healthy rate of growth since the late 50's. I thought to myself, the only way to remove this thing would be with a cutting torch or in Hunter S. Thompson/Woody Creek style, with some dramatic explosives and a party.

It turns out the thing is in a wetland zone on my property and I can't cut the trees down to drag it out and when I asked if I could get a local explosives firm to blast it to bits, the county denied my request. The best I can do is hire a crane to lift it out over the tree canopy.

Sometimes I realize that 90% of HST's antics and doings were actually pure bullcrap, Like jewish kids fantasizing about being NBA stars or hockey players and writing, no rambling on and on about it.

If there is an ounce of honesty in what the guy does for fun, he's welcome to come here as my guest along with all the permits in hand to blow up my car out of the woods.

So he's not a full-time Conservative, but frankly, the Liberal and Greenie neighbors are better shots.

He would do it if it were his idea. He knows when an idea is his own because it is better, in his estimation.
