Set up loudspeakers outside the mosques and broadcast Kate Smith's God Bless America at the same time.

Churches are being used for prayer?
That always seemed a bit strange to me

Many posts about this developing story.
"A holy war of sorts is heating up in a Detroit suburb, where members of the local Muslim community want loudspeakers on mosques to announce the Islamic call to prayer five times each day.
"But the idea is running into opposition from other residents of Hamtramck, Mich., many of whom are Christian, who think the prayer calls as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 10 p.m. would be disruptive. " etc.

Why not have the local churches broadcast hymns or recitations praising Jesus on loudspeakers 5 times a day?
No- make that 10 times a day!

They just think 6AM would be the earliest broadcast?
Actually the first call to prayer is just before sunrise- which is closer to 5AM in my area in the summer.

I understand the outrage but what the heck are or can ya do. Our elected officials have basically sold us out due to political correctness and and groups like the ACLU. For now it's just calling for prayer but as their numbers increase so shall their religion. In time it will dominate not only your city but America and you may be forced to comply.

Maybe local infidels can start a fund to purchase and distribute
conspicuous ear plugs, earphones and earmuffs.
Or
Local stores could pay to put their ads on key chain carrying cases for earplugs The stores can hand them out to their infidel customers.

The obvious solutions is have these Hyphenated Americans get cell phones, and put out a mass shotgun call at prayer times. Nobody gets missed, and nobody gets annoyed.

Are you saying that they intend to use Catholic Churches as mosques?
Not permitted.
Once it is done----it is no longer a Church and cannot be used for Mass.

I think you are wrong to frame the issue as Christians vs Muslims.
I am a christian and do not want to be included in this crusade. I am also an American and I believe in free speech and right to worship without interference.
Christians also teach tolerance, don't they. If the local elected officials (who represent the people) allow it, why can't you.

With the Catholic Churches it is not a matter of free speech; it's a matter of a dedicated and blessed space solely for the celebration of the Mass.
For your information, all Catholic Churches are blessed and dedicated by the current bishop at the time of their being built.
Only Mass!

Where does it say that they want to use churches as mosques. If I missed that point I apologize. I read the story to say that Muslims want to post speakers on their mosques for a call to prayers 5X day, and the issue is noise to surrounding neighborhoods.
What does that have to do with churches being dedicated to Mass (a point I agree with).

I called 2 of the churches listed to see what was being done,The first i called was corinthian baptist church: They seemed lazy over the whole issue not wanting to cause much trouble. I then Called The Ukrainian catholic church and much to my surprise Spoke with the priest who was totally agaisnt this and in fact they are taking much legal action as we speak. He has a board of lawyers and other legal folks working on it now and wont sit idly by.. he shared with me many personal stories of his expericenw tih the resident muslims and he ahd nothing nice to say. They have basically been trying to force him to sell his church to them. Even offering alot for it. He refuses to give in to their demands.. kudos for Father Daniel Of the Ukrainian Catholic church..
To: ElisabethInCincy
If this goes through, they need to place loudspeakers in the council members neighborhoods and if that doesn't reverse this decision ACE Hardware sells wire cutters for $2.99. Cutters and some camo on late at night would solve this problem...of course, it would be a "hate" crime...lol.

They won't be allowed to turn these speakers on if there is a school baseball game, basketball game, soccer game, graduation ceremony, football game, or any type of town meeting anywhere in the city - Will they?

As a rule Christian countries that have shown tolorance for Muslims, soon find themselves ruled by Muslims that have no tolorance for Christians.

I guess in Fallujah Al Sadar is also just calling everyone to prayer. It's not wants going on outside the mosque but more importantly what's going on inside the mosques.
Of course, this is none of our business. Just note a potential "dot" in Detriot when we need to connect them all up again come a bigger disaster than 9/11.
Totally disgusted in my little red-fly-over zone in life.
To: cripplecreek
In retrospect, the "call to prayer" has been going on for over a year and most people don't even notice it anymore, much less care.
