Open wheel racing of any kind is boring.

Oh! So? Pick up a copy of National Speed Sports News, find someone to help you with the big words, and then reconsider your comment. We'll await your apology.

Just to let you know: 'open wheel racing' means more than running around a track without the fender that earnhardt's kid knocked-off (btw: how many rules will they ignore to favor him this week?).

What a great response!

I've only been watching F1 for 25 years! Thanks for the update!

And thanks for posting the highly informative and original post that started this thread. I think that I know most of the F1 web sites...how grateful I am to you for posting the very information I sought to avoid.

You've succeeded in making FreeRepublic a site I have to avoid on race day!

I wanted to read posts on the anniversary of the Desert One/ Eagle Claw rescue attempt.

BTW, since this "broadcast live ... in real time worldwide" , what was your exact purpose in posting an entire article and headline from an F1 website?

But, your "get a watch or get a life" was certainly helpful and instructive.

How could anyone think such a clever person such as yourself was a fool?

We need more empty vanity posts like yours, to ruin a great place like FreeRepublic.

if you think F1 boring then perhaps you haven't seen enough of it to understand the craft

It is the high art of motorsport

no other sport takes the skill endurance or concentration

most exotic cars, locations and babes

It is what all other racing aspires to be

here at Imola, a particularly challangeing track upon which to pass, we saw some pit stop chess moves and even Kimi move up from p19 to p8 .... the contender's team mate's engine flamed out in the final laps .. the 2nd Ferrari spent the race in a Renaut sandwich ..... last year Shumacher won this race the day after his mother passed away and now wins again just as he had 10 years ago after the tragedy

It may have been the last race at Imola

I guess you didn't read my previous post. I was up at 4:30 to turn on the recorder because I was too tired to stay awake and watch it because of the amount of work I've been doing. Why don't you have some consideration for others who don't live on the East Coast? It would have been far better if you headline just said "F-1 results" and you could have avoided all of this controversy.

You must be a talk show host? You avoid all of the other points made and focus in on the only thing you can defeat.

Too late - you've apparently chugged the kool-aid. THAT, or you must owe him a lot of money, or something.

IMO: I'd rather root for the guys that score the most positions in a race than the 'get-in-front-go-like-hell' ones. Ferrari spends more money annually than some countries probably have for budgets - that's why they're against a lot of the new limits the FIA (probably the only GOOD european governing body) is considering. It'll make it hard even for mafiamoney to get in...

Montoya is a dog boy

Give him his due: Montoya is a good, capable driver and has been improving in the past few years. Don't base everything on perceived personalities.

I've only been an avid reader at FreeRepublic since 1998. Although I read FR much less as the some people who post have made FR less appealing.

And, if you decide to use big words... please learn how to spell.

I intended to attack your character, for your thoughtless and inconsiderate post. Perhaps you deserve the criticism more for the subsequent posts in the same thread.

Nevertheless, thanks for changing the headline so as not to spoil the race for other people.

If you are a fellow F1 fan, then please respect that other F1 fans , for whatever reasons, would like to remain free to watch and enjoy the race , unspoiled and on their schedule...not yours!

Huh? Oh... That San Marino. I was thinking "Sure, we used to race around San Marino; but, I wouldn't have applied the label 'Grand Prix' to it. And on top of that, we were usually trying not to get caught by the cops while we were at it!"

But this is the other San Marino. That's very different.

Never mind.

No, not just F1. ever hear of SPRINTS? Or MIDGETS? (or CART or IRL; but they've been in a bit of a decline these last few years)

'Dirt-track' means more than that thing around the inside of your tub (ever hear of a TUB?). But, anyways, go take your girlfriend, and your beer, and your wife (heck, and your SHEEP, if your guy is scripted to win the race this week) and watch the 'gas-powered roller derby' that is what's left of nascar.
