The stench in Madison is DEFINITELY bi-partisan. Krug, Burke, and worst of all:

Tommy Thompson, who increased State payroll by 50% in only 16 years, handed out union pay and bennie increases like the Easter Bunny hands out jellybeans, and who

SCREWED 4 southeastern Wisconsin counties into paying for Bud Selig's playground--which in 5 years will be vacant and STILL have $300 million mortgage.

LOL, thanks for your explanation. I was thinking this was not such a big corrupt thing, except for the DUI of course, that's pretty bad.

This is one of the really foolish things America had done since the founding, establish an entrenched political class. Remember Lamar(!) Alexander's plan for Congress "Cut their pay and send them home!" I thought it was a good idea, unfortunately IIRC it was his only idea.

That would be the Caucus scandal I mentioned (which, based on the lack of prosecution of Shirley Krug, who had the "good sense" to turn over control of the Assembly RATs to the Madistan crowd, is strictly politically motivated).

At least Tommy has the good sense to not drink and drive, which is more than I can say for Keg. As for the soon-to-be-white-elephant known as Miller Park, it won't be 5 years (I'm looking at closer to 3; after all, Pope Bud I is allegedly getting out of baseball by the end of 2006, and I highly doubt that whoever replaces him will put up with the Brewers in Milwaukee much past 2006).
