Fighting around Fallujah a Marine sniper's 'dream'

One "good" thing about the Battle of Fallujah is that our Marine snipers will not have any future pangs of guilt about having to have killed two or three dozen "nice boys". The people being killed in Fajullah by our Marine snipers are definitely "bad guys" that need killing and our Marines feel good about their job......Polybius

Yes, I am a doctor and my medical career has included 20 years of active and reserve service as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy where it was my job to keep keep U.S. Marines such as these healthy so that they could kill the enemies of the United States that "needed killing".

He's not killing them. He's keeping our soldiers whole and well so THEY can kill them.

If he ran across a grievously wounded rag, he'd stop the bleeding and do everything he's trained to do. His oath extends that far. The medics in my dad's company in WWII patched up the occasional Kraut.

But his oath doesn't include wishing them well. His primary duty is to OUR men.

I wish people would quit feeling sorry for these scum. They DON'T fight by civilized rules and they have absolutely NO compunction about killing women, old people, and little children. Not to mention torture, etc.

Don't waste your pity on them. They can't appreciate it.

As a United States Naval medical officer, my oath is to protect and defend the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, and not an oath to "Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses".

The Hippocratic Oath is an outdated classical relic that, if followed, would prohibit surgery.

"I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work."

In any case, however, the Hippocratic Oath has no prohibition on the waging of war.

Sure wish I was there. Went through 2nd Mar Div scout/sniper school but never got to play in a big game.

The Corps was a different place then however, after Vietnam, patriotism was low, politics were liberal.
